micah's 95 YJ, and daily pictures...

here it is....

specs:
95 YJ
2.5 4 cyl k&n filter
waggy 44's gears unkown, but it pulls 2k and then some going 55 in 5th gear so i think they are pretty low...rear is locked either spool or welded riddler covers
36 ss sx
ramsey 9500 plat series winch
full armor
crusher corners
half doors,
winjammer, duster, bestop replace a top
line lock for an e brake
carrera seats
herculined tub
shop built soa, all done very well with tom woods shafts
shackle reversal
no trac bar or sway bar
grant steering wheel
very very little rust perfect frame...
and only 74000 on the clock, engine is bone dry

my wife is so happy we have had this one day and she wants to drive everywhere....crazy i think i am in love all over....

it also came with a set of 15" bead locks the 35" spare is on one....

future mods are:

clean it
spray underbody
grab handles
lower it???????????????
get rid of the 36's and get 35's.....
wheel it wheel it wheel it.....

What do you all think, and i know i want it lower, but its staying soa so its going to be hard..it sits prob 8 inches of lift right now, and its 80" tall and 80" wide.....not too bad, but too high for my taste....I want to use this to explore, so its needs to make a few long trips.....my wife loves to take photos so its primary use will be remote picture sites, and wheeling....

what methods can i use to lower it???
ideas so far....
stiffer stock springs
re soa springs,,, they claim 7.5 lift,,,,not a big help...
shorter shackles....

this is where i am so far....

I'm so totally stoked for you. IF I can get my Jeep into any kind of wheeling shape here soon, I'm saying we should wheel!

Oh. You should probably change your siggy...

keep the 36's... ride on them till they are bald.. then get new tires... take a leaf out of the spring pack and see how your ride height looks then. Looks great man!

Jeep looks good - one suggestion I have is to get an actual e-brake instead of a line lock - if you lose brake pressure the line lock will not hold you, that's why e-brakes are cable driven.

Also, you could probably go with a smaller shackle lift and that would lower you a bit.

i would redo the ebrake, but i do not daily drive, and ohio is the flatest state....lol ya it couldent hurt....

a shorter shackle is on the list I think it will only drop it a 1/2 inch to an inch, but worth it....thanks all...

thanks..... i took it out today for a spin, just getting use to all the newness and operating the soft top...

i think it has a bit of an exhaust leak, or the trans is noisy, i know the ax5 is not the best, what noise does it make when going bad....it pulls hard in every gear, goes into all gears smooth, but i hear like a ticking in gears 3,4,5,,,,what is this,,,i hope its not the trans, it only has 74k on it....i alsways imagined a grind noise, but its not like that...could be a loose rattle or an exhaust leak, does not make the noise when not in gear or when the engine is reved, thats why my geuss is the trans or driveline noise...drive shafts maybe????

Check the diff fluid levels. Also check the tranny and tcase fluids. Driveshafts would squeal, not grind.

My YJ has a totally junk trans. It's the AX5 and 5th gear is totally gone. I get lots of noise out of mine like grinding and so on. It goes away for a while every time I flush the trans fluid. Make sure you use a GL-4 lube as the rest will disintegrate the bearings and brass junk in there.

There's a bunch of AWESOME walk-thrus for all the basic maint stuff like that if you find yourself in a pickle. Judging by your last build, I'd say you probably need far less help than me!

I'm stoked about this monster rig you've got. I'll PM you as soon as I can get my Jeep haulin'. I've got some other buddies that wheel too. One's got the nicest drool-worthy TJ you've ever seen. Think Atlas II.

awsome,,,ya i am not so worried about this trans issue, because i do not dd this its just my toy....i will run it till it blows....fluid change is first on the list....

the Advanced Adapters kit and trans dosent look bad as a replacment option and swap to an ax15..reg price is like 2,300....considering the last trans i had rebuilt at work was 1,000, i think this is not bad for all new and the adapter kit...its an option....maybe it will last another 100k hahahahaha and then i can swap an LS motor.....maybe....not soon.....maybe if i hope alot and park it next to a couple vetts they will switch motors......
