Makes it worse? How? I must not be following you correctly... You said your pumpkin sits a few inches off to the side, correct? So move your transmission mount an inch in the same direction. That is most definitely not making it worse.

U joint angles need to be parallel. Google image search 'u joint angle' and you will see that your solution is incorrect

By simply cocking the back of the engine to the right you are creating a different u joint angle at the t case than at the axle pinion, thus, incorrect driveline angles.

If I were to pick up my entire engine and move it all to the right that's a different story

Out with the old

next to the slightly less old:

Seems Legit.....

But as of right now:

My brake lines are a total mess (need replaced) and I have no shocks, and the e-brake lines on this axle are cut do i need to address that when I do new shoes and drums and hardware.

My exhaust is held in place off to the side with a wire hanger

My front drive shaft is unbolted and held in place with a wire hanger and duct tape (and no i still dont have an inspection cover on my torque converter)

But, it seems to ride and drive fine. Had it up to about 50 in the neighborhood, havent dared to take it on the highway with those rotted 31's and no shocks. But, no weird vibes or anything, so, hopefully upwards of 60 MPH it drives the same.

Phew, i'm beat.

Okay, here's how everything looks under the truck.

So, i had to move my muffler over slightly, it was just barely touching the drive shaft before.

I think you addressed this, but I've forgotten. Do you plan to eventually go with a disc brake upgrade for the new rearend?

38 coats, krylon fusion.

No, its 2 coats, and i didnt prime because I wanted to shoot white over white, and there was no rust or anything.

Its duplicolor wheel paint. I've had great luck with it in the past. Being white, it'll be super easy to touch up as well. pull the wheel and shoot another coat, done.

I just sanded down and removed any discoloration, leveled any chips, then whiped the wheels down with Prep-all, and painted away.

on my magnum the wheels had some weird clear coat from the factory that I couldnt remove, so I used self etching primer, then dupilcolor regular car paint, then duplicolor wheel clear coat. Held up perfect for a good 2 years. I had 1 or 2 nicks from like hitting it with a tire iron or something, but other than that, it was great.

Before (black steelies were 'aite' but didnt really do it justice)

After:

SA-WEET!

So, with all this axle stuff I stuck the rear in to test it out, and I had to get my good tires swapped over for a full speed road test. I figured Ii'd refurb the rims before putting the tires on.

I've always loved the vintage look, I know these arent correct to the year of my wag, but I prefer them over the full hub caps.

Sorry if i'm tootin' my own horn, but they came out great! I am not sure if i will redo the paint on the dog dishes.
