I love your Waggy. I want one and have been looking around for one. Not one near me for sale...and if there was, I'd be worried about its years in the rust belt. They go for crazy money on eBay. I guess all I'm saying is I'm jealous...subscribed to the thread!

Hey, thanks! Glad to hear you're still around and doin' well.

Well, here's what I did today. Drove 750 miles round trip, but got exactly what I wanted.

Woooo!!

So, todays haul:

Front and Rear Dana44's, narrow track, 3.54's

(5) 6 lug oem type steel wheels,

a set of 4 near perfect condition OEM dog dishes

and a genuine gear quick-loc (lunchbox locker).

Hot dang! Looks like i'll be doing some work on the waggy!

Plans are:

1. Full rebuild on both axles. Keeping stock gears:
-Bearings
-U joints
-Seals
-Ball Joints
-Tie Rod Ends
-Calipers/Rotors/Pads
-Wheel Cylinders/Shoes/Hardware/Drums
-Cleaned up and painted.

2. Install lunchbox Locker in front end

3. Instal Manual Hubs in front end

4. New diff covers, welded steel or cast iron.

5. Refurbish those stock style steelies, swap over my tires, and mate them to the Dog Dishes

6. Install the axles and wheels!

I will update all of this as I go along.

Basic concept is to have "new" axles going under the truck. I figure i might as well do the work while the axles are out from under the truck and not have to worry about anything in the foreseeable future.

Any input is helpful. If you have suggestions on something I've missed, or on something I shouldn't bother with, please let me know, I dont claim to know everything or be right all the time, and appreciate constructive input.

Yes. Currently have a d44 out back and a d30 with closed knuckles up front, both have drum brakes, and 3.31 gears

Are you going with a body lift also? I wouldn't say you need one. Unless of course you decide to follow the voice of reason and take that thing off road

Regardless of taking it offroad, I do need one. I rub on the street. I rub when doing 70 if I'm towing my camper.

I have all the pucks for a 1" BL but need to buy the hardware
