And, the same thing happened. Trans lost 2nd and 3rd gear this time luckily in my driveway.

The temp gauge reads 110 degrees, but the tansmission pan is hot to the touch, hot as in I cannot hold my hand on it.

I drove it 50 miles the other day, like 20 miles yesterday, and 20 miles today with NO issues. then I hopped in the truck to go to my friends house, and it wont shift out of 1st, and obviously as mentioned the transmission pan is super hot.

Could a line have some debris in it that preventing good flow of cool fluid in? Is it possible to blow the lines out? Are you measuring the temp of the fluid going into the trans, or coming out?

Edit: Got any way to measure the pressure on both the input and output lines at the transmission? Can you get access to what you need to perform a power flush?

I'm dropping it at a transmission shop tomorrow it seems.

Shoulda done it in the first place. Worst case scenario, if i'm looking at a full rebuild, it'll probably cost me about 750 bucks.

Well, at least you were able to do the engine swap itself and now just have the trans issue to figure out. You'll have to let us know what the shop says because given the symptoms and inconsistency I am curious. Hopefully it's nothing that requires too major of an expense.

Great hope it wont be a huge issue. I think you should do the Rhinogrill swap. How hard would it be to find the lights and grill. What about wiring the lights. Its funny how the cutout is already there.

A for effort even if the results aren't so hot. Hopefully it will be something minor and they won't have to rebuild the whole damn thing again.
Good luck buddy.

Have you heard anything yet?

I decided to revisit this because I'm quite curious for some reason.

I'm curious, and decided to revisit because my TH400 is currently powerglide

latest word is

"we drove it around a bit yesterday, it acted up a little last night, but it was fine this morning, i've got a guy out driving it right now trying to get it warmed up a bit. I'll probably be pulling the pan here soon since we cant get it to do what you said, and it seems like something might be sticking in the valve body, or the governor could be weak and acting up"

Told me to call back in an hour or so and see how its going.

they seem to be telling me "we've got a guy out driving it" quite alot!!! Sounds like these guys are running all their errands in my jeep, haha. I cant really blame them for wanting to drive it so much though.....it IS pretty awesome, after all.

No apology necessary, but I've just learned not to be so judgmental or quick to throw around opinions if something isn't taken care of instantly.

Everybody thinks they can do it better themselves, or somewhere else can do better.

Obviously i cant do better myself, or it wouldn't be there right now, haha.
