Loving the build so far. Very clean and not taking any short cuts.

Thanks, guys!

Well, that pretty much gets this thread up to where I'm currently at with my build, except for the engine. The engine parts are at my engine builder. The basic engine combo is a 1970 vintage Dodge 318 block bored .030 over, and a 4" stroker crank that will give a displacement of 390 cubic inches, or 6.4 liters for you modern guys. I'm planning on dyno'ing the engine sometime in the last week of this month, assuming the engine builder will have the engine done before then. We're expecting it to make about 350 hp and about 480 ft. lbs. of torque. I'm going to record the dyno session with my camcorder. I'll post a video or two here.
Some random engine parts pics.

After sandblasting the firewall, I welded up all 26 of the unneeded holes.

After wiping it down with wax & grease remover, I laid down 2 coats of epoxy primer, and then 3 coats of high build primer.

Fear not, I've done builds from the ground up before.

I hope to be driving this thing by the end of next year.

03Jeeper...thanks, man!

I purchased a 6 pinion planetary and 23 spline input in used, but otherwise excellent condition from a member named gearfather. From a load capacity standpoint, the 6 pinion is a nice upgrade from the 3 pinion that my NP231 originally had. The 23 spline was needed to match the output shaft of my 727 trans.

Thanks, miguelemm.

I decided to cut my losses and ditch the CJ hood I had originally bought. That first hood had way too many holes to patch up. So, I searched on craigslist last Friday, and found another hood in MUCH better condition for $75. It did have two areas that needed some metal replacement, plus a hole smaller than the size of a dime, but other than that, its overall condition was very good and straight.

Here are the two larger spots that needed metal replacement, already welded up and ground down. I'm going to shoot a coat of epoxy primer on before doing the plastic filler work.

The Northern radiator came in today. Perfect fit.
I have a new 1995 Ford Thunderbird electric fan assembly on the way from rockauto.com. It has a two speed fan motor. It will be controlled by a DCC controller.

My engine builder hasn't figured out the exact compression ratio yet, but it will be around 9.3:1, give or take a tenth.
