LS1 powered jeep


Hi guys i just wanna show off my jeep im new to jeeping although i owned multiple 4x4's before but there is something special about the jeeps.
The jeep people for first i never had anyone with 4x4 waive to me before and all those conversations at gas stations etc my buddies joke at me that i can brake anything even all local transmission and performance shops know me for my talent ( some of my parts r displayed on wall of shame in various places and i got good colllection myself So i build my jeep like i was building 10K lbs truck It has dana 60 front and sterling 10.5 with posi in the rear ( im planning selectable lockers but i only started my project in november and budget is short) LS1 engine pulled out of 99 transam WS6 all aluminum even oil pan making healthy 320 horsies , i was planing on nv 4500 but 3500 was much cheaper and came with transfer case i did SYE and bolted it in frame ,
everything was frame off restorations all done in my small garage except small things like resplaining axle shafts after narrowing axles i even did my own driveshafts from about1/2 dozen junkyard driveshafts i made 2 cv shafts
I just wanna say hi its great to own a jeep i'm just exploring the posibilities (thing go almost anywhere )check out my gallery for more pictures i will keep updating them . Im looking for some wheeling budies in Ma Ct Ri please feel free to contact me.

i can provide wiring diagrams to anyone thats interested or even help with wiring harness its not that hard

I'm just dreaming for now. But sometime I'd like to put a 5.3 out of a chevy pick up in my Jeep. Good long lasting motors and plenty of power for a Jeep. And as far as i know pretty similar to the LS1. (design wise)

u r wright 6 bolt main only diference is cast block instead aluminum both have aluminum heads and mine is 5.7 l personally i think it makes jeep too fast they were never mean to have this much power mine is totally nuts and uncontrollable at full throttle in 1st 2nd and 3 rd but i get almost 20 MPG babyng it

I'm actually still working on it transfer case had an electronic sensor mounted to it and i thought it would work but it didnt im converting jeep to automatic now my trans guy is supose to build me an 4l60e we r going to adress it then hes going to install right sensor right now im driving by tachometer and little speed chart i made

that's very badass... i've own two LS1's (camaro & corvette) and one in a jeep is great able to lift the front tires yet?

is the exhaust custom? do you have to use LS1 O2 sensor's, etc.? how was fitment of the block? and good choice on the built 4l60e. curious if this combo would fit an a ZJ

I just bought an 6l80e transmission thats right 6 speed automatic out of 2007 escalade

now got to save some money for atlas transfer case and figure out how to get this tranny to work i know for sure i can do fully manual shifts but im looking more towards getting 2007 ecm and program it to run ls1 i think that will be easier.

So wait .. you're telling me there's potential here for a LS1 powered TIPTRONIC jeep? You are a god. Or are the "fully manual" shifts, in fact, totally fully manual? lol I don't follow..

Try getting the PCM ---computer module that resides in compartment behind front passenger side wheel in the fender. Since you are using the 6 speed 6L80E you will need to get a 2006 or later PCM for a Corvette. 1997-2005 Corvettes used the 4L60E trans. The PCM controls both the engine and transmissions. The LS1 was used exclusively with the 4L60E, later LS2 and LS3 engines were mated to the 6 speed. You may be able to use a PCM out of a late nineties or later GM pickup, however they used differing version of LSX style engines. Suggest calling Chuck at Corvettes of Westchester for more info on tuning.

Dude !! my ls1 already runs and i drive it everyday i just got 5 speed in it now i was looking for 4l60e when i stumbled across 6l80E read little bit about it and decided to go for it worst case scenario i got to seat on it for a while i bought one on ebay with 10 miles on it (brand new) out of 2007 escalade for 1495$ speartech offers controllers for them they little steep Harnes +ecm+electronic pedal =1650 i hope i could buy just a controller and do wiring myself ( like i did on my jeep)check my gallery for more pictures.My engine come from a 99 trans am WS6 i bought total crashed car and was able to pull all the piesces off of iti had to put a wiring harnes on a diet (resplice) and took out like 4 miles of copper out of it left just all neccesarry stuff . even i got in tank fuel pump from trans am , now im working on dashboard and airconditioning -i'm using AM's gauge cluster and had to blend it in will post pictures soon i spent last few days playing with aluminum and fiberglass ill try to put more pictures
