I hope by the end of the month. Spring break is in two weeks and the wife is going to DC this weekend coming up.

That's the plan at least. You got yours on the road yet?

Finally some progress. I went ahead and pulled the D30 out. I am replacing the pass. side seal and I think I'm going to paint it too.

Chopped off the sway bar bracket.

Starting to clean it up.

Here is how i installed my seal. I used the 1/2"-13 all thread with a 3/4" washer I got from ACE. I used an 8.8 side gear and one of the small D30 spider gears. Worked well enough with after fiddling with it.

I got crazy today.

I got the axle painted, installed, took my old t-case out and put a new one in, and moved my bumpstops forward. I also did all the yard work in between.

Bumpstops. Probably can't tell but I drilled and tapped holes over an inch forward.

My old t-case and the new. This is the first time it's ever been out of the jeep.

I found that the speed sensor o-ring was leaking on my old t-case.

I need to get Tom Woods to send me the right yoke for my driveshaft.

Diff guard has taken a beating.

I need new gloves.

I honestly thought I took one! I was going to take one of it under the jeep but it was too dark and I don't have a small floor light for the garage.

I'll get one posted tomorrow.

Well I have some play in the front output yoke. In and out not side to side, I think the chain has stretched since it's the original, and it has a hack n' tap SYE (I think) which I snagged from a wrecked '95 YJ. That case was busted in half in the wreck. I don't know what SYE kit it is and one of the seals is leaking. It also may have the stock output shaft.

The new t-case I got for free and it came from a lightly used '95. The SYE is the standard ones you see and it does not have many miles on it like mine. It also has the beefier output shaft. On the trail, I can hear my front driveshaft making clanking noises when the suspension cycles which is due to the play in the front output shaft. Instead of rebuilding mine with the unknown SYE I went with the free new one.

Ahh I see. The old case has a RE Hack and Tap sye flange and a chopped stock output cone for a seal and yes it's the stock output shaft. I've seen a few people chop the cone thing like that and then dermal out the end for the seal to fit in.... The new case should be a nicer setup!

Thanks. I was wondering what it could be. I even had Tom Woods himself say it was one of his but I was doubtful his company would sell that setup.
