yeah either gonna be torx or allen if they are counter sunk. I was able to get mine out by heating them with a torch before I tried stripping them out!

Just put my tailgate back on. Threw the old ones away and bought grade 8 bolts. I know it's overkill but they are cheap at Ace hardware and also won't rust. Just get a washer and they look good.

I'll take the hinges with me and see how it looks and if the washers sufficiently cover the countersink.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but Grade 8 hardware is not stainless steel. They rust like crazy!

All the grade 8 hardware I use is usually zinc plated. I might just go with stainless steel since my tailgate isn't handling loads that would need the added strength. Thanks for the help guys.

I didnt know this about the Grade 8 hardware. I have not had any trouble with rusting or anything. The bolts on my suspension have been on there a long time and no problems. I still like the bolt and washer look over the old countersunk bolts.

well being from TX I'm sure you don't get a lot of salt on the roads! That definately makes a difference!

We definitely don't get any salt on the roads in Georgia. Something else I took care of last night was my radio antenna. I bought a generic one from Autozone and finally put it in. Instead of putting it where the stock one was I stuck it up in the dash. I still get pretty good reception. I plan on bolting the stock antenna base on the body to cover the holes.

Here's a pic of the new clearance I gained with the XJ waterpump. I'm pleased. I posted a before and after shot.

I prepped the tailgate for priming.

I also finally put my radio antenna mount back on the body where the tree sheared it off. I still need to wire wheel the rusty parts and put some paint back on.

That's nice they gave you all the stickers. I got one. What lockers will you be installing again

Also, I pulled codes from my jeep for kicks and to see if anything was there after the exhaust work. I got 13 and 21. MAP sensor and O2 sensor. Everything seems fine so I just disconnect the battery and reset everything. I will check again in a few weeks.
