Lj

Always wanted an LJ, so I finally bit the bullet. It was a insurance auction vehicle due to a roll over. What is different about this build is I have been working overseas for three years. I am 7400 miles away.
I bought the jeep over the phone from Gary and Wade at RacewayAuto.com in Savannah, TN. Seats, grill and windshield frame are from Roger at RacewayAuto.com.
All of the body work is being done by Scottie Brown at Brown's Auto Body in Savannah, TN. He recommended going with aftermarket fenders and a aftermarket hood.
The winch is a Warn xd9000i from Craig's list.
Front and rear bumpers are from ebay.
The bestop soft top is from ebay.

Still looking at lift options for cargo not crawling.

I got to see the LJ in person back in December.

My daughter always wanted a yellow vehicle till the day I bought one. Now she likes blue. Let's see what she thinks when the weather warms up.

Here is what it looked like in the pictures the guys at RacewayAuto sent me.

Yep. The fenders and hood were trashed enough that it made more since to just start fresh.

Windshield frame and grill were from another salvage vehicle at RacewayAuto.

I think people were expecting an AEV or other non-factory replacement hood, and maybe some highline or tube fenders rather than stock replacement parts.

I understand what you are saying. I like the highline setup and may go that route if I ever make it home. For now the smartest move is to bring it back to life with small upgrades.

Lift kit, tummy tuck, and other more personalized things will come once I am back in the states.

What is really interesting about the deal is what it says about the people you chose to do business with. This would not work if I did not have a ton of faith in the sales people and the body shop.

Latest picture from Scottie Brown taken today. It will be ready tomorrow, waiting on one more sticker.

Rocker guards, a lift and 33's will wait till I get home for now.

Toying with a semi retro idea of white wheels and black and white hood stripes like Beasley has on his avatar.
