Since it's a battle to figure out where your right front tire hangs out when you try to place it on a rock I tried to do something about it.
Seems to work pretty well

My wheelin bud just finished his latest round of modifications this week, so of to the mountains we went today to stretch ole Betsy her legs and she how she is doing.
Made for a fun afternoon, nothing to exciting just a nice put about, we are so lucky that the nearest trail is only about 35 mins away. Cannot beat some nice fresh mountain air.

what are your spring rates on your coils front and rear?

How come you didn't go with 16s and cut the hood up front?

Thanks.

14" coilovers are plenty good for rock crawling. 16" would just give a bit more up and down but are a lot harder to stuff in there and not really needed.
Mine is 200 over 200 in front , my buddy has 200 over 250 in front. I run 100 over 150 in the rear. I am pretty sure he runs something similar in the rear

So how much "lift" do you think you got over stock? Trying to justify to myself a pair of front coilovers or airshocks, but dont want to raise my Tj much as I want to only run 35's.

To me the most important thing was to get around 22-23" belly clearance when going to the Hammers. After some comparing with my yellow Jeep I figured out that the big Jeep has about 4-5" of lift.

Basically what king sells for a 14" coil over, to be truth full I never measured them. The upper collar is 3" down the tube which is what they recommended.
Which gives me the ride height I wanted and the travel I had wanted.
Would be a good idea to weigh the Jeep with the axles under it, but before you start installing the coilover mounts and coil overs. Gives you a pretty good idea what you need for springs. Weigh it with the front wheels on the scale, then the whole Jeep and then the rear wheels only. Divide the weight for the front axle and rear axle in half and that gives you pretty much the weight at each wheel.
The only thing I need to fudge with is the rear coil overs the dampening on the upstroke is to stiff. Same thing with my buddy's Jeep so we will fix that in the next couple of weeks.

I'm guessing the Rockers are the offroad tires. I'm guessing these Krawlers are a drive to the trail tire since he has his flares on and he said it was a 35 minute drive to the mountain trails.

Just a thought.
