Sure looks better with a bit of sheetmetal



Guess it's time for the dreaded list

Regear axles, make front driveshaft.
Plumb ARB compressor and tank.
Weld on grille
Clean all wiring
Finish sheetmetal work on floor use some sheet metal grating to stop gravel spray and still allow to see the front tires.
Make new fuel lines.
Install and wire gauges
Finish welding on cage
Make a rack for cooler and tool bag
Finish exhaust and install muffler.
Install hi volume powersteering pump and make brackets for it
Plumb powersteering cooler
Install trans cooler fan
Install winch
Install rear suckdown winch
Rig some led lights up front
Machine wheelspacers.

Well that just about should get me to a shakedown run

Hey art, does anyone make a cooler that you could run both your power steering fluid and trans fluid through it?

They might, just as easy to stack 2 same sized coolers above each other.

Had a blast with Fred and the guys on Friday at Stoddard Valley. How was JV ?

Didn't make it out there, slept in, worked on my buggy, saved some money for my AZ trip.
Somehow getting up at 5 AM didn't sound that appealing.
Fred did a great job on the custom steering, very cleverly done. Proves you don't have to have full hydro with a 111 to 112 wheelbase and no comp cut

Either of you have any pics of how Fred re-did his setup to go back to hydro assist? I remember Art saying he didn't like the full hydro and was working on changing it again.

I know how tough it is trying to stretch the front out there all while keeping a steering box, uptravel, and approach angle in check. So much easier to go full hydro with a trail rig but definitely not desireable on a Jeep driven on the street.

I will get some pictures for you. The box is mounted inside the frame above the axle. Then a rod goes through the bottom of the grill to a bell crank down under the frame over to the knuckle. So you can put the axle where you want an not worry about linkage.

Did a bit of milling yesterday to avoid more of this happening



Ended up looking like this, needs some machining of the bolt heads for clearance, but looks like I got that figured out, didn't want to cut to deep into the wheel spacers. Bolts gonna end up looking like button heads.



Buddy also gave me some sheetmetal, which led to this

.

Gonna hit the steel yard in a lil for some angle iron to built some more tabs and frame to mount the sheetmetal on.

Got my crap loaded on the truck and trailer and off to AZ I go.
Table Mesa AZ here I come for a fun filled 5 day sojourn yeahhhh!!!!
On the way I might even do some Jeep wrenching
