Cut an old drop pitman arm and turned it nice and round on the lathe.
Mounted it on a piece of sector shaft
The round piece in my hand is the splined part

Tight business

Can I say it's pretty darn tight under there?

Progress is slow, since the plasma cutter needs new consumables. My torches are at a friend's house and he is on vacation in Utah.
So everything gets cut and shaped with a angle grinder.
On the bright side, even though stuff is very tight under there, it works!!
Tomorrow it's time to make a mount for the drag link on the steering arm and some bracket for the steering ram. Getting that in there and the hoses run is going to be an adventure also. Then flex flex and flex if after that everything is to my liking it's time to burn everything together

I sure opened a Pandora's box with this one, however a couple of tubes of KY jelly later I am getting close to slamming the lid back on that darn box

Need to make a top plate for the passenger steering arm and then on to making a assist ram mount and skid plate.
Mounting the ram and routing the hoses is going to be fun also

Hey, I have a few questions for you. I'm toying with either pit bulls or Iroks. I really like the pit bulls, but they are so wide in the 39.5s

How do you like your pitbulls?
What size are they again?
What size wheels are you running? Backspacing?
What is your overall width of the jeep?

Thanks

Among other things money, double ended ram plus mount and orbital valve is not cheap. Also I have driven and operated heavy equipment with full hydro steering and do not care for how that equipment steers.

It's wide but pretty darn stable, If I am not mistaken it's 87" from outside tire to outside tire

Thanks I appreciate it. I picked up a set of H2 wheels a while back to use, and I'm not sure how well they would work with the wide Rockers. I've seen them mounted, but I think they would rub pretty badly

As for the overall width, I'm trying to plan for trailer modifications, Drive over Fenders, etc.

made the fenders on my trailer removable, works well and is a lot lighter than drive over fenders. Pull 4 pins and pull the fenders off

To darn hot to do much of anything today, still kinda positioned the steering ram where it roughly needs to go. Looks like rotating it and pointing the fittings to the back will be my best bet. Going to make a skid/ integrated mount for the ram. Ordered some new electrodes for the plasma cutter so this weekend might turn into a cut fest lol. Snapon sure is proud of their stuff though.
