Carlsbad is at the coast and close to near perfect San Diego weather.
Have fun, do not break an axle shaft trying to get around the big boulder on the left. I'll be home from work after 5 PM to rescue you
Been to Death Valley twice in summer to darn hot.
Funniest visit was in winter at night. Snow in Lone Pine, hour later above 80 degrees in death valley around midnight go figure

I'll be taking it easy, and trailering it of course. This isn't one of my best ideas, but hey..... i've had worse.

Headed back home Tuesday evening, so not much time. Just have a bunch of family in the area from Michigan I want to see for at least a minute.

Motino wash is fun, not terribly hard, but fun. Can be a bit harsh on tires though. Cut 2 sidewalls on that trail to date

Hopefully the new MTR's don't let me down . If the temps aren't too high I'll be heading up there.

The Mtr's weak point is the siping where the sidewall meets the thread. You hit em hard they like to spring a leak there and plugging them is only a temporary fix since it will tear between the cords. If that ever happens to you, plug to get home then have the tire patched from the inside as soon as possible

Cali deserts trashed my MTR/Ks, pin hole leaks I don't think would have happened to my Pitbulls. Then again, 10lbs lighter per corner with the mtr's is noticeably different on the street.

Art, your access to trails never ceases to fuel my jealousy.

You can always move and get into desert racing
Pretty sere the Pitbulls would have faired better. Your tires failed in the exact spot I am talking about. Seems to be a weak spot.
But since it's repairable, I'll buy me some MTR 37's. So I can drive my put put up tot the mountains for summer wheelin

My tinkertoy, the yellow one will pretty much stay as is.
Might improve on some of the suspension some day.
Want to paint the windshield frame and tube fenders properly first though
