Law School TJ Build Thread

Disclaimer. This is solely for me to keep track of things.

Welp. I have an interesting Jeep story. I had a TJ when I was in highschool and through my first year of college till I chose transfer far from home and traded it in for a honda I graduated school and got a great job and bought a JK Decided I wasn't happy with my career choice and that I should go to law school (should be starting this August / January depending on financials) so I'm back in a TJ

First: Pics of my last TJ on my old account

It was a 2.5" OME lift with 1" BL and MML on 33x12.50r15's With Metalcloaks front and rear as well as a gr8tops halfcab.

And my current fling the day I bought her

She has a 4" BDS kit with SYE that the guy had receipts for being installed at 4wp with a warranty. The top was in crappy shape so I've already replaced it. I will update with more / better pics tonight. In my signature line is a link to everything I've done / plan to do. Next post should be pics of my Iggee seat covers, the bedrug, and my new rampage bowless top as well as my synergy hard grab handles.

I just ordered about $400 in fluids and what not to completely change everything in the Jeep and basically start with fresh everything.

I'm still deciding between schools. I have a long term girlfriend who is in grad school at Auburn that I want to be close to. I'm thinking I'll end up at Samford. If for whatever reason that doesn't work out I'll go to South Texas.

I told myself I will only buy one Jeep thing or less with each paycheck whether that be LED's for the dash or a super duper iso someter megatron boobie thing.

So far I've installed Iggee seat covers (pretty awesome if I might say so), BedRug (also awesome) over the previous owners crappy bedliner job that I can tell he did NO prep work. It's flaking up and there's literally clean paint underneath. I added synergy hard metal grab handles instead of the soft ones, I liked the idea of hard ones better and so far I like them better too.

Lastly, I added a rampage header and frameless soft top in sailcloth. The top went on great with some tugging and pulling but the header is still giving me problems. There's a huge gap that I know is going to leak when it rains. I think the header was designed around later model TJ's. I dunno I might take it all the way off and then back on again this weekend. I will post some pictures of that and everything else this weekend.

This weekend I plan on changing EVERY FLUID in the Jeep. I spent about $350 on every fluid. I mean everything:

I plan on changing the following this weekend
Engine Oil
Oil FIlter
Spark Plugs and anti-sieze
Thermostat and Gasket
Radiator Fluid and Cap
Air Filter
Transmission Fluid
Transfer Case Fluid
Differential Fluid and Gasket
Serpentine Belt
Power Steering Fluid
Brake Fluid
Grease all fittings

Should be fun.

After that I plan on installing the TrailDash I have left over from the JK I just sold.

I really need to buy the matching top half doors for the Jeep. It looks odd with tan soft uppers and the black top

Got to take off all the windows and run in safari mode yesterday on a short road trip through the hill country.

And for anyone curious what Iggee seat covers in beige look like.

Metalcloak also had a sale... I may have used my credit card

Got a phone call today that my Metalcloak order will be about 3-4 weeks out

I did appreciate it being a phone call instead of an email or facebook post. Nice personal touch.

Nice , if you want to hang out with some Jeepers check out Brazos Valley Jeeps on Facebook. We're having a monthly meet up at Double Daves on Boonville Rd on the 22nd at 7pm if you want to meet some people.

So, I was having some issues really needing to push it into second and it sometimes not getting all the way into gear. So, I cut off the shifter boot and my problems magically vanished. Thinking about replacing it with http://www.autozone.com/pedal-pads-a...oot/20368_0_0/

Posting this here so it's easier to find later. I plan on installing the shifter boot from my last post tomorrow or Saturday. Should be a quick 20 minute job if my the shift knob comes off without too much trouble.
