Latest project...

Hello All:

I don't consider myself a newb, as I've been lurking for a long long time. I normally just use the search function to find answer to my questions, but figure it is time to make a few posts about a new project I bought about 2 weeks ago...

pulled the trigger on a black 98 TJ... 4.0, 5 sp.

The paint has some clear coat issues, but that is the least of my concerns, as it is not a mall crawler

It had a 2(ish)" budget boost and 2" body lift sitting on some 15X10 Mickey T mags wrapped in TRXUS AT's...

Someone feel free to quote me so these pics will show up

First things first... the plastic chrome grill inserts (gay) were ripped off asap, shortly being followed by the body lift, side steps and rear tire carrier

Next up was waiting on the UPS man to bring a new 3" Zone suspension lift, Teraflex quick disconnects, Aussie locker for the D30, and 5 new 15X8 Black Rock 941's

Future (hopefully sooner than later) plans:
- Front & Rear bumpers
- Rock Sliders
- Winch to hang on said new front bumper
- annnnnnddddd.... a heart transplant via V8 powa
- a long list of other crap that I don't really need, but want

Had a busy/eventful couple of days last weekend... Huge thanks to several Jeeping friends for the helping hands and suggestions

Started off Thursday night pulling the body lift off:
Before:

After:

Also put new plugs & wires on, did an oil change and bled the brakes

Friday @ lunch and we were at it again:

went ahead and put new rotors & pads up front while we were at it:

and the end result several hours later:

Wheels came in Monday, so had them mounted up:

Locker, quick disconnects and parts for rear tire carrier will be in this week. A local business/friend, B3 Concepts, will be making my custom front & rear bumpers. It is coming together nicely!

The black wheels should aid the looks a lot better once I get that hideous tan top replaced with a black one

In my head, my priorities in order are:
- get the armor done all around, front bumper, rear bumper w/ tire carrier, rock sliders with tubular frame mounts
- 8.8 swap, 4.56 gears, SYE conversion
- Motor Swap
- Paint Job

thanks trekman8...

ibjeepin95: I wasn't sure how I would like it seeing as how there weren't many reviews (those few were good though) and it being very cheap for what all came with it. So far, I'm more than happy with it. Haven't had a chance to get out and flex with it yet, but that is coming very soon!

locker made its way in and tan top has been replaced with a new black top. Rear bumper should be going on tonight, and hopefully followed by the front and some rock sliders within the week

The words "tranny rebuild" rattle my nerves... guess it is time to venture into newer waters glad we are practicing on yours before doing mine
