Wow so i messed up completely forgot that i cant put a Spartan locker in my LSD carrier. I got bored tonight and got the ring gear off only to find id messed up pretty bad, i new i needed one iv got no idea how it didn't cross my mind to get an open carrier. So im now looking for a open carrier for my d44. Going to call ecgs and see if they'll Saturday ship a open carrier to me, i have to get the jeep back on the road this weekend.

Ok yesterday got a new carrier. Drilled the Wholes out to Stock rubicon spec (the bigger size) and torqued down the ring gear. Today i pulled the axle and began the worst ten hours of my life. Clamshell bearing ull has made it easyer and i can now pull the carier pull pressed on shims put new shims on and press the bearings back on in under ten minites. Is really not to bad and i spent most of the day making sure i did every thing right as aposed to really geting it done. Ill upload pics tomorrow but i was useing some set up bearing s i had made from the used bearings to try and dial a patern in. I got one that i felt comfortable with .008 backlash and a pretty centered pattern, but it was a little light like the gears were meshing but only at the edge of the pinion but after compareing some pictures of other peoples patterns it looked good. So we pressed on the bearings .008 backlash aging good, checked pattern it had turned from the initial slightly difuse pattern to one that was clearly just an edge. At this point it was 1010 at night and my buddy was tried and starvig and so was is so we cleaned up a little and called it a night. Tomorrow im going to pull the pressed bering and move about .003 from the right and move it to the left and give it a shot i think it needs to be closeer to the pinion.

Ok update Gears are in i have a couple pictures from saterday but none from sunday. With the axle out from under the jeep it was pretty easy to work on the and set up the gears. Making or buying set up carrier bearings a pinion race is a must and renting a clamshell bearing puller made it so after i put the final bearings on and my backlash went to sh$t i could pull them on and try to get it closer and not mess up my pattern by moving the pinion. Got the axle back in and put currie springs in the back nut moved my pinion up to much to its to messed up to drive and i couldn't fix it before i had to catch a ride back to clemson this morning. Before i left i went for a ride around clemson just to see how the gears felt with the locker in, 4.88 feels pretty deep it was spining the tires while i engaed the clutch and feels pretty strong and ready to go, but on the way back to my house from the pool i got it up to 30 and death wobble ensued. It was full on tracbar slop deathwobble so i checked the axle while my gf turned the wheel an the tracbar seems to be moving on the axle side so im going to have to tighten it down and it defently needs an alinment.

Ill post pics tomorrow but the jeep is fixed, death wobble has been cured and i ordered new steering TREs and IRO tie rod. The death wobble took a while to fix, my axle side track bar mount got wollered out and and was allowing the front axle to shift while i drove so i used some shoulder brushings and a big washer on the front to help pull the axle bracket together to stock the bar from moving ill probably end up beefing the bracket on my HPD30, it'll go in sometime this spring when i get it regeared and beefed up a little bit.

Just an update, iv got new steering hpd30 4.88 and a empty hpd30 Sitting in my garage. I was having some trouble with death wobble from replacing my front track bar. Iv mostly got it solved but there's still a little shimmy around 45. I had originally planed to put in a fuel cell over my spring break, but It sounds like my transmition might be going, I'm going to replace all my fluids over break instead and use that money to get closer to buying a bike to dd a little as gas goes up and in case the transmition is on its way out.
