Some updates:

The Jeep made it back out to CO over the weekend. I replaced the head gasket and a t case bearing and seal before making the trip but didn't have time to finish the HP30 build. That's still sitting in my garage back in MN.

Also, I ordered some parts for the jeep today:

  1. 4" round tail lights
  2. A yj fuel bezel
  3. Some misc hardware
  4. Moab Fab (soon to be called Stewy Fab) rocker guards (my passenger guard is dickered)
  5. And finally....some custom Moab Fab Corners made to my specs
Specs on the corners include the following:
  • 3/16" Steel
  • Centered for 98" wb/5" stretch
  • CJ Tailgate Conversion
  • Notches for TJ Sliders
  • Countersunk Mounting Holes
  • 4" tail light holes
  • YJ Fuel Bezel in the factory TJ location
  • wheel well oversized 2" and raised .5"
They will look something like this

I'm pretty excited to cover up some trail damage and be better armored in general. If the level of customer service at Moab Fab is any indication of the quality of this armor, I think I will be thoroughly satisfied with my purchase.

I think so too. Did you end up using nutserts when you installed them? Or just the provided nuts and bolts?

You need nutserts in 4 places on each side. The 3 holes along the door frame and the bottom corner at the tailgate. The tub is double walled in those places. Everwhere else I just used the supplied hardware, though I got button head bolts instead of countersunk bolts.

Today I got the driver side all mounted up, then pulled it off for the coming paint.

Tomorrow I'll start the passenger side which will be more interesting. The passenger side is mangled from running holy cross two weeks ago.

It was a weekend of fun lines. Some of the damage was from sliding backwards into the rock wall on the far right in french creek. Made it up the off camber ledge prior to the creek as well.

Had some fun at Chinamans too. The Jeep made it up the far left line of whales tail which I was real happy about...it wouldn't go up that line last year.
