I really like what your doing here keep working bit by bit this is what I'm hoping to do. I'm looking to buy my first jeep here real soon and seeing that I'm a college student as well it will be a slow build for me too.

No big updates...Other than the fact that I drove it today for the first time in two months! I've got 4.88 gears sitting in my room...waiting to mate with the master install kits which I still need to get, and I placed ads in a couple of classified sections looking to trade my 33s for some 35s. I want bigger tires!

so you're going to run 35's on the D35 locked?

i would be very gentle with that axle, i am running 33's on a D35 open and Im terrified of it. I still haven't decided what route I want to go as i also regeard to 4.56 in haste before considering an 8.8 swap or D44

EDIT:

sorry, just noticed you plan on going with a super35 kit which is a good option. but i would definitely truss your D35 as the housings are weak and prone to bending, but that's if you plan on wheeling the p*** out of it.

The short term plan is to run the D35 open with the current tires or some 35s if I can get my hands on some. Hopefully this coming summer I will get a super 35 kit preferably with a selectable. The superior truss will be on the list as well! Things could change though. I would really like 44s front and rear geared to 5.38. A ***** can dream right?

90% of owning a jeep is dreaming and 10% is fixing the stuff you cant afford to upgrade haha - in my case anyway

Nice Jeep, man! Keep posting those sweet pics of the west. Maybe some day I can get my jeep out of the mud to come play out there!

How about a d35 with yukon axles, arb, geared 4.88, and strengthened brackets? I will make you a deal you can't pass up. Nothing wrong with it. PM me.

It's great out here man! I've definitely grown more fond of the rocks. Mud is fun and can be pretty rowdy but I get so sick of the cleanup! Not much cleanup necessary after crawling rocks.

I do have an update, ^^^This^^^.
If all goes to plan I'll be driving 5 hours south tomorrow to pick this axle up. Then I'll be searching for a deal on an ARB mini compressor, and all the necessary electronics/hoses to make the new ARB operational. In two weeks I'll be going home to Minnesota and will be Jeepless for a month. When I get back, the new axle will go in the rear (which I want to do myself, but I'm not sure what all is involved as far as brake work goes) and the front end will be geared to match (4.88). I might install an aussie up front while I'm at it...not sure though. My main concern is winter driving safety.
