to be honest i have made the mounts yet. but what i am going to do i use a 1/4 steel plate and weld the nut onto it. then i will have the bolt connect through the body and onto the bumper. i am going to make a custom washer for the bolt side. i will draft it up and post a pic of it tomorrow

well i got a lot done yesterday. i figured out how i am going to mount my bumper. i clean out my engine bay, put new spark plugs wires and plugs in, polished my headlights, and helped my dad clean out his tj.

there are 4 pre-drilled holes behind the oval holes. you have to make the outer side of the holes square. then make the plate with the bolt welded on. on the other side use another plate with the nuts. vola! bumper is mounted!

Look! the engine bay isnt covered in mud and grease

my families jeeps. we went topless with our tj yesterday and took it for a spin.

a better pic of my bumper

with my lift arriving tomorrow, i went ahead and prepared my jeep. i took off my sway bars and wd-40 all of the bolts and brushing. then i got bored and decided to do some flexing for once.

It's amazing what a stock suspension can do:

lift to be put on tomorrow

update on the lift.
i found out that this sh!ty town doesnt have a single place that will let you borrow a compressor for the shocks so i went to drop my track bar and everything and guess what?! almost every stinking bolt is stuck. i used almost a whole can of wd40 on them and nothing. i took it in the shop at school today and my teacher said they were on there so tight i would have to grind off the bolts and do it that way.

owell. but i cant work on my bumper for now because i have to practice for a drafting competition so it will be awhile long. i love being busy. but this bumper is going to be worth the wait.

well this past week i have been at Skills USA for a drafting competition, i have literally not been home all week. the bolts are stuck and i will start working on them probably next monday because i have school and work off. i am going to drop the axels, put in the spacer lift, change the tranny and diff fluids. for the bumper, i worked on it for about 30 min today cleaning up the welds. once school starts again, i will align it and mount it. once it is mounted i will "build it up" as in welding pieces on to make it look flush with the wheel well. then i will use body filler and make it smooth as a babies butt. after that, primer and paint. the color will be the same and the cladding. krylon fusion satin.

well i have a update on the lift. i have completed almost the front end. i ran into a speed bump. my 3 month old socket wrench decided to break on me. so now i can't remove the passenger side shock and coil retainer. luckily i will be making a trip to a bigger city on monday and will hopefully get a new one. at least craftsman has a lifetime warranty. im going to see if i can just borrow one from my school's shop for the weekend and try to get it done. and the bumper just needs to be mounted and adjustments made.
