Day 1 - Five hours after purchase pass-side caliper freezes. Oreilly's to purchase a replacement and get it hooked up and bled.
Day 3 - Driver's side rear brake/signal light goes out. AdvanceAuto for a quick fix.

So far owning the JK has been great with a few minor inconveniences. (Nothing I didn't expect or can't handle)
It's a huge pleasure to drive and it's incredible driving the vehicle I've always dreamt about. I tell my friends/family that don't understand it's like owning the STi of the truck world.

Why is it that no used Jeep comes with floor mats?

I ordered some Quadratec mats. They just happened to be on sale and had some old-style clearance models left for the rear cargo area. They arrived really quickly. Fit was spot on. Had to trim around the factory subwoofer. Instructions gave a precise outline as to where cutting should happen. I'm really happy with the final product and my wallet doesn't hurt either! Disregard the tape gun, well-loved recovery strap and air pump.

Thanks - plans are to enjoy the crap out of it! This is my first wrangler. I'm really not sure what direction I wanna go. I'm more of an over-lander/expedition-er so we'll see.

I was reading your new JKUR build thread yesterday. Really nice rig you have there!

Thank you
I like that I can always spot my rig in photos or parking lots. I also like that everyone is instinctively assigning me big-bird or yellow-submarine handles in group rides.

After the first wheeling trip in the new Jeep I only had one complaint. A low hanging underside.
Rough Country 2.5" BB lift I bummed off a friend who went bigger/better
Wheel spacers should be here in a few days. Next on the list is a skid row oil/trans plate.

Had a small group ride through The Great Smoky Mountains with some friends this past weekend. So glad spring is finally here!

Ruff Stuff 1-ton tie rod came in and I finally had time to get it put together.
I cut the 54" bar down to roughly 51 1/4" and tig welded the bungs on. I used flat black rustoleum, applied 6-7 light coats and let dry 24 hours.

Prep work

One side welded up. Appears to be way overkill. I like it!

Painted

UPDATE:

Went to install the Ruff Stuff tie-rod kit last night. It was incredibly simple to setup and align but I ran into one massive issue.
The TREs dont seat properly.

One stressful night, a phone call to Ruff Stuff, and some intense google searching later...I'm a slightly more educated JK owner.
It turns out the supplier of these offset TREs has pretty lacks tolerances. Some fit no problem and some are just a hair off. Ruff Stuff mentioned that if I needed to ream the knuckle I wouldn't have gotten the castle nut that far down on the TRE, so I'm good in that respect.
Very helpful post I found: http://www.jkowners.com/forum/showth...t=82513&page=2
A local club member also clued me into these spacers offered by JCR: http://www.jcroffroad.com/mm5/mercha...ct_Code=PLYBSH

And as for the steering stabilizer options for the Ruff Stuff 1.5" DOM here we go:
http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/...mp-p-1727.html
This clamp from Poly Perf should work perfectly. I just need to figure out if I need 1/2" or 5/8" mounting holes.

Temporary rear brake line extension made from Lowe's parts for the wheeling trip this weekend. The real extensions from Rubicon Express will be here next Monday. They will have keyed slots to keep the bracket from twisting (which makes me feel better about having them back there). The Lowe's parts will get me by for a few days though. I'm only out like $4.
