well i had a good weekend

got it back on the ground and rolling with the tub bolted on with the new poly mounts

then wheeled it outside

a look at the rust. the floor is only bad in the drivers side

had to pull the column to change the bearing on the end

got the patch in the floor and started in the side with fixing the brace

i finished getting the patch in the side. with a little more grinding it will be ready for filler and blocking. i also got the 8.8 stripped and ready to get set in so i can get some measurements to send to tom woods for a custom shaft and sye. i plan on setting the axle 1" to the rear to get some stretch.

patch in.

the axle took some persuading

but got it done. once the perches are welded on i am sending it to get blasted.

well i got the 8.8 set and tacked in. it is within 1/32" in all directions. i set the pinion also and am ready to measure for the cv shaft.

i also milled the spring plates to accept the stretch

ready

its in and tacked

remember i said the yj would have some led fun
this is just a teaser of whats to come. it will have 6 circles not 2
think 5000 lumens!!!! with only 6 leds.

well i took a step backwards. i decided to take the shims out if the leaf packs. so i had to cut the tacks on the perches and redo them.

got the shock mounts tacked also.

i flexed it out to make sure the shocks would clear.
a little better than last time.

this is what i am using to weld the 8.8 up.

Mine sits 1/2" lower on the drivers side also.

Ive gotta run over to parts galore and look for a 8.8 one of these days. Shooting for 35's by the end of the summer and I dont think the d35 will like that much at all.

Can't wait to see how the tube fenders turn out. Thinking about adding that to the list of "to do" before winter.

on Monday i got a tire to test fit for clearance. damn cant wait for my tires to come in.
these are not what i am getting. i am getting km2's and m/t classic locks

also got some work done on the fenders. had the tube bent by a local chassis builder

brushed dp90 on all the welds to seal them up.

hope to get the jeep in prime tomorrow and painted this weekend. i am also going to my old high school tomorrow to cut the bumper plate and the rear booms.
