Omg - I certainly did. To celebrate the rare occurance of thanksgivvuka, I cooked everything in pancetta grease. Thanksgiving is no joke to me... been cooking for 3 days. Its all over except the chocolate pumpkin creme pie. I am satiated. Happy thanksgiving everyone!

Thanks everyone! I hope all your eating and shopping went well!

For the pie- its very simple but it was the best dessert I have ever made. Forgive me- I don't use recipes so my measurements aren't exact.

Crust - 2packages of chocolate graham crackers crumbled. Mix in 3/4 to 1 stick of butter and form evenly into 2 pie dishes.

Filling - 1 big can pumpkin puree, 1 & 1/2 bars softened cream cheese, some brown sugar (maybe 1/2 cup), 3 large eggs.. some heavy cream (again, maybe 1/2 cup) - beat until smoothish. Fill the crusts and bake 40-60 mins until middle isnt jiggly. Let sit.

Whipped cream - no real measurements here. Just add some whipping cream and your desired flavors ( I used about 1/4 cup brown sugar and the zest of an orange). 1/4 cup cream cheese is optional but it helps keep the whipped cream inflated. Beat until it is fluffy, then I folded in some chocolate chips for texture.

Takes 15 minutes work and 40 minutes waiting time. So worth it. Im not even a sweets person and the pie was my favorite part of thanksgiving.

Not much going on in Jeep news. Getting ready for grad school finals, trying to make a habit out of going to the gym and loose the habit of smoking. Wish me luck guys!

No problem! Somewhere between paleontologist and glue engineer on my timeline of desired career paths... master chef was in there somewhere.

Hope it turns out well!

Not too much going on this week.

Its hopefully bonus day at work!

I do have to make a trip up to VT for a birthday party this weekend and just realized im due for an oil change. So I am probably just going to throw the jeep to the nice mechanic men down the street and get an oil change and have them do a chassis lube - which should *fingers crossed* eliminate the steering squeaking. Maybe one of them can figure the gear-related whining sound.

I know its a cop out - but it is cold and wet and I just dont have the time to puzzle through every piece in her system hoping to find the broken link right now. Hopefully its something simple.

Well thank you! It was a great weekend. Its amazing how much you laugh when you get your entire extended family together for the first night in years on a cold night in a bar with really cheap and really strong drinks.

I switched over to full synthetic. Alice sounds much happier.

In worse news - I got just under 10mpg going up to vt. In Alice's defense it was the worst conditions possible... I had cruise control set at 78, it was crazy windy out, below 20F (which I'm sure can affect tire pressure significantly with 33s on 15s) and I don't even think the rockies have highways as steep as northern vt. I'm waiting on a second estimate for 65mph highway driving combined with a normal secondary highway pace in the smaller hills. Fingers crossed for 14!!!!

Good news is - I got to use 4wd on main roads for the first time this year. Northwestern Connecticut is an icy mess this morning. Its falling as rain, but freezing the second it touches the ground.

Bad news is- that is probably going to throw off my calculation for normal driving mileage. As long as I am getting over 10... I will be really happy.

Something is terribly wrong if youre only getting 10mpg in your 05 Jeep lol

The roads were a mess this morning though, mainly because of stupid drivers that never should have left their homes lol

Yeah Kate, I still get 12-13 driving 70 with a trailer or in four wheel

I never make the same mistake twice - it's more like three or four times.

This was the jeep running with the throttle floored in 5th gear to climb mountains without loosing momentum for about 2 hours. I know even in a car gas milage drops significantly on this road... so I'm expecting around 14 normal driving worst case.
