Nice jeep man. Always love to see other michigan jeep builds because there's not a lot of them. Just wondering why did you go from the 4 inch rough country lift with 33"s to the 2 BB and 31's?

I did it when gas went up to $4+ a gallon a couple years ago. I'm glad I did it. It drives better, gets better mpg, more fun offroad because it's not as easy. I like it. I just drove 130 miles to work today and I have to leave in 10 mins to drive 130 miles back home so it is nice on trips like that. I do it about once a week.

The 4" Rough Country lift isn't designed as well as OEM (mostly the control arm bushings) and everything was noisy/clunky, etc. It's faster to air up after wheeling now. Tires are cheaper too. It's nice not having a big huge spare on the back.

Had to drive the 130 miles again last night - AH. That's 390 miles in less than 24 hours and a lot of gas!

Loving it so far, I have to ask, did you go to the same high school as Derek Jeter?

Thanks. No, originally I am from SE Michigan but my current house is in that school district now. There was a group of anonymous donors that made a fund to pay for every student to go to college and rumor (purely speculation) is that Jeter was one of them. I have my doubts about that however. I think it was probably rich old people.

Where in Kalamazoo do you live? I don't think I've seen your Jeep around before.

That's cool as hell, reminds of that episode of The Office.

I got the doors used. They are OEM half doors. Originally they were gloss black and I should have left them that way. I tried to paint them silverstone metallic to match the rest of my Jeep but doing it with a can didn't work well. So I just sprayed them flat black. I tried selling them but no takers so far. So maybe I will buy a quart of paint and use a sprayer to paint them but it will be kind of expensive ($100) and I'm not sure it would turn out good. Also, the half door aren't practical without the uppers.

I will sell them for $300 firm. I reeeeally like them but I also have soft doors so I don't need both. Is that cheap enough? Let me know! I also have the key for them which is important and the hinges are stainless steel so I guess that is a plus.
