Just some kid's LCOG TJ Build

Hey all, figured I'd start a build up for my new jeep because why not haha

Bought my jeep about a month, and so far haven't really done anything major to it, reason being that I will be driving from Colorado to California where I go to school, which is only a week away now! I figured the drive would be a lot more pleasant on stock wheels/tires than on a pair of 35" M/T's... once i get there the build should move along somewhat quickly.

Here are some of the specs:
2000 jeep wrangler sport
4.0
5spd
3.73
d30 front
d44 rear
130k miles

First thing I did was paint the headlight bezels

Then I decided to plastidip the grill

Then I plastidipped the fender flares

And took the milkjugs off...

so far my only really mod has been some JKS quick discos

I ordered a pair of the Metalcloak arched fenders, which I should get in the next few weeks

so far plans are:
35x12.5r15 Goodyear MTR/K on 15x8 steel wheels
Regear to 4.88
Locker for front D30
Upgrade steering, Currie perhaps
Upgrade brakes, Vanco BBK?
Maybe 1" bl and mml for a tummy tuck
Possible 2" lift, OME or BDS, if I want more clearance

2" without the BL would be just about right for 35s. You will probably need spacers at least in front if you want to go anywhere besides strait (the spacers offset the tires wider and allow you to turn the wheels without rubbing... as much).

Sounds like a solid plan. Prepare to go broke.

Little update:
Drive 1200 miles to California from Colorado, jeep did fine... Had it at 85 at almost 3k rpm for most of the trip.... But no problems whatsoever!

Got my metalcloak fenders, and just finished painting them the other day

Also got my wheels, went with 15x8 ion alloys 174 style

Ordered 4 35x12.5 mtr/k yesterday won't get them for a week or so

Installation of fenders will happen in the next few days, then wheels/tires whenever they get here

How about a pic of the wheels unboxed?
Still jealous you went with aluminums bro...

I'd like to see the wheels too. What color did you go with on the cloaks?

Will be interesting to see those 35s tucked up in there. Did you decide on suspension/total lift yet?

Here's what the wheels look like, 15x8 with 3.44 back spacing, I'm thinking of blacking out the center caps, not a huge fan of chrome

Went with a black semigloss on the fenders, would've liked a gunmetal gray but I figured black would be a lot easier to touch up long term.

I have not decided on a lift yet, but I believe that the 35s should be fine on the stock suspension for at least a little while, as long as I don't do any extreme wheeling, just got to school here so right now I'm looking into getting a job to fund this addiction haha

I feel ya man. That will definitely be easier to touch up! Wheels look good. I'm not a fan of center caps either, I don't run them on mine at all actually. Hopefully you don't have any issues with the tires, interested to see how it looks at stock height!
