I wish! Little pricks Denied even goin out on the dock! Told the cops they didn't have a party or anything. Cops barely even wrote a report, spent about 7 minutes at the house and then bounced. Damned kayak was worth almost $1,000 with the carbon fiber paddle and life jacket! I am seriously pissed!

That sucks...big time. I only know one way to handle that, short of kicking ***.

Beer time.

The jeep is looking good Chris. I know the feeling of being hours away from any off-road park. I've kind of grown accustom to it since I've never lived out West. I'm about 2 hours from the closest one in Alabama. My future residence will be 30 minutes.

did a little tinkering around on the YJ today.

i was able to finally get my rock lights mounted and wired. for rock lights i didnt just use the standard driving lights most people use. my best friend is an electrician and snagged some lights that they use in the freezers and displays at groceries stores. they are about 4 1/2' long LED strips. you can cut one up into 14" sections, getting 4 out of one bar. i used three 14" strips on my rig. the hard part for these is trying to find a place to mount a 14" light bar under your jeep. i mounted one center in the front of the jeep and 2 side by side center mounted to the tub right after the transfer case, spanning the width of the jeep. they arent the brightest in the world because theyre not really directional lights but they'll do for now. ill probably add a different set of lights as well later on down the road.

heres a pic of them lit up. its a lot brighter than they look in these pics. i guess my phone doesnt show that too well

heres the one in the front

and the ones in the middle

and again heres what the switch looks like that im running them off of

i also ordered some front shock hoops from WFO last week. should get them soon

Those are pretty slick. They look plenty bright to me and it definitely beats grinding your teeth on a 6" maglite handle.

Of course you have to. I've never been to a park that formally allowed night wheeling until I went to Choccolocco Mountain in AL. We got there in the evening and the owner came out of the woods. He said we should go riding at night and I said I didn't think it was allowed. He said the opposite "We encourage it!".

He had our waivers of course

Those lights look good man. I bet if tou run them along the inside of the frame at a 45 degree angle down, it will cast more pight and be better protected. You could probably hide them up under the bumper in the front too.

By the way, my Heep is ALIVE!! Got it going yesterday afternoon

i thought about running them along the inside of the frame rail like you said, but unlike you i have a skids that run front front to rear

as far as the front one, it is mounted right behind the bumper.

glad you got the jeep running. did you have to completely strip that wiring harness?

No, I was poking through someone else's wiring problem thread and found a link to Opihi59's electrical issue and what he did to remedy it. Turns out my ignition switch was rusty and causing some issues. When I went to clean it, I broke it. So, bought a new one for $15 fixed a crappy butt connection higher up in the harness and it fires right up! Happy days!! I still need to fix the rest of the harness though...... Picked up some other "scrap" steel too....... You're welder is gonna get a workout! Hahaha i should have grabbed that bottle as well, I scored some perfect sheetmetal to fix my tub.

I don't need skid plates when I'm crawling at the mall!!

well im glad you got it fixed and running.

if you need that bottle just stop by and get it. i picked it up. just make sure you grab the bottle, regulator, and mig wire. also make sure you reverse the polarity on the welder.

not much going on with the YJ.... Im in Va all month for work.

on a side note: I am having a problem finding a good shop in Jacksonville, NC to re-gear my 8.8, so I decided I'd call some shops around the southeastern part of Va where I'm at. figured if I get a good price from a good shop, I'll drive home on the weekend, pull the 8.8 and bring it back up with me.

The first shop I called emailed me a qoute and I damn near choked on my lunch. They want $1,115.30 to re-gear ONE(1) axle. With it being an 8.8 and no carrier break that price obviously doesnt include a carrier. There is no way in hell I would pay over $1,100 for one axle.
