Yes it is. I cant wait to finish it up and go wheeling with some nice comfy Mastercraft seats and a cage that'll withstand some accidental damage if it happens.

any plan to tie those cage feet through the tub to the frame?

also, you should definetly bevel the edges of the tube on that notch before you weld.

if you didn't already know that

Yes the cage will be tied to the frame.

As far as beveling the notches, its not really needed. I sometimes bevel and sometimes dont. As long as you clean up the notch with a flapper there isn't a problem.

.120 wall tubing is only 1/8" thick. A small bevel is not going to have an effect when welding with my MM175.

a small bevel means you won't have to run quite as much heat to get complete penetration, so you can get a cleaner, stronger weld without as much risk to burn through.

any thoughts on dovetailing the cage? would help keep it out of the rocks I think. do they have rocks over there?

just my .02

I like the new look though.

I hope everyone had a good and safe 4th of July.

Today I knocked a little more out of the cage.

First thing i had to do was drill out my B pillar mounting feet and get them bolted to the floor. Heres is what i came up with. I think it will plenty strong as it will be tied to the frame as well on the underside

Before i moved on to my B pillar vertical bars i decided i wanted to move the overhead bar a little further back. I didnt want to risk smacking my head on it. When i removed it I went ahead and beveled the notch JUST FOR TAYLOR(climbit)

Then I measured and cut my verticals. They are kicked back 11 degrees.

And of course I had to do some creative notching.

After the B pillar I moved my way to the front. I started on the windshield bar. I've been going back and forth with myself between making the windshield bar straight or having an angry brow. I like the look of a modest bend in it. Nothing too steep. But in the end I just decided to keep it straight. One less thing for me to possibly mess up by bending it then notching it and getting it perfectly level and square.

Windshield bar tac'd in

Finally I cut and notched the dash bar.

And this is as far as I got today. Spent about 8-8 1/2 hrs on it.

I plan on working on my seat mounts next, that way i can lay out my overhead bars only once without having to cut them out because i found out later on they got in the way of my head.

Looks AWESOME! Wish I had some more free time to get back up there. I still want your old seat risers, mine are FUBAR.

Damn, I knew I was ugly in the mirror, but those pics make me look like a troll!
