Came home to another package today.

I ordered some Brown Dog 1" MML on Tues and they already showed up. I was pretty impressed with how quick the shipping was. With the 1" motor mount lift I'm one step closer to trying to get a flat belly. I will still need to cut up the tunnel if Im really serious about this. Decision Decisions....

Since i had nothing to do today I decided to get started on the install.

MMMMmmmmmm

I was LOOOONG overdue to replace my motor mounts

New vs. Old.

And installed

I only took pictures of one but obviously the other side looks the same. I havent decided if I'll move my fan shroud up. It clears with the motor running right now. I just dont kow if bouncing around and flexing will make it contact

Lookin good, one of the best things I've done to my rig I think r the browndog mounts , They make a world of difference to me. I hated the feeling of my engine bouncing up n down n everything connected to it moving as much is it did with the stock mounts.

Thanks man

I still havent driven it yet, Im positive it will be way better than my old mounts though.

Im still waiting on my new yoke from Advance Adapters. It should be here tomorrow.

Besides that ive been busy cutting up my floor "trying" to get a flat belly. Will update soon

Ok so heres the update. I wanted to try to get a flat skid, that means cutting up my floor....... So thats what I did.

Heres a before shot

stripped the interior

And of course removed to the boot and access plate to see what contacts. At this point i jacked up the TC as far as i could and traced what hit.

The major thing that contacts is the bellhousing. this pic is with the TC lowered some

I also had to cut the rear some to clear the shifters.

Those 2 spots were the only thing that made contact. Once i cut the metal out for the shifters the only thing that contacted was the bellhousing. I cut as much as i can without putting my bellhousing inside of my dash.

Next thing i did was whip out the bender and make a crossmember to hold everything up.

After that it was over to the JD2 notcher

Crossmember Ver 3.0. Haha this is my 3rd time making a crossmember in the last couple months

If I didnt make a crossmember my skid would be able to be completely flat, BUT...... I like having a crossmember. I think once I make another skid it'll be about 1" below the frame rail.

Heres is a profile so you can see how low the crossmember is. Not to bad.

I will now have to figure out how i want to re-patch everything on the inside. That'll be another day.

Got a little more work done today.

I was able to get my new front and rear Advance Adapters yokes installed on my Tcase.

My front yoke I had to replace because one of the nubs(or whatever its called) that hold the ujoint broke off. Im not sure when it broke. I just noticed i was getting some play in my front DS and found the problem. As said i got a replacement from Advance Adapters. While I was at it I switched from the Strap u-joint retainer to the ubolt style. Install was a piece of cake.

Old vs. New

you can see the missing nub here

the front yoke installed

I also replaced my rear yoke that I broke in Uwharrie.

Installed

Heres a picture of the old one.

Everything went great until I tried to bolt up my rear driveshaft. It wouldn't bolt up so I starting investigating. It appears that when my rear yoke broke it cracked my double cardon. Right where the ujoints mates to the yoke.

Heres a pic

Im going to head to the Pick-n-pull down in Wilmington and snag another XJ shaft. Im just going to switch the double cardon over to my current shaft.

Well once again that's all I have for the day.

Nice i replaced mine with the Ubolt style as well, those strap style yokes seems to break all the time, Where did u find the front one for ur transfercase, that's the only one I havent changed, I never saw one for it when I was looking. By the looks of the cv there u must of been on the gas nice n hard when that thing bound n snapped on you. I bet it made a nice sound, my passengers always freakout when something breaks like that and for sum reason it puts a smile on mine haha

I got the front one from Advance Adapters as well. While I was on the phone with them for my rear yoke and ordered a front one as well. I dont think its on their website but give em a call. It was like $45.

And yea it was pretty loud when it snapped. The funny thing is the people I was wheeling with that day(just random people I met that morning) all freaked out because they didnt know I trailered to the trail. They thought I was going to have to drive 4 hrs home in front wheel drive with a locker.

I will have to look at which kit it was, but the perches are very long. 5/8 u-bolts as well. I told you i would pay you, I just hope you accept rubber checks and IOUs! Hahahaha!

Ordering the sheetmetal this weekend I think. Been researching and trying to establish the best way to accomplish my goals in the cheapest manner possible. This is a discussion over many beers that will cause much merriment for all involved.

Your jeep looks awesome, as always!
