For the record.... Who said 4.88s were already to deep for a 6 speed and 35s?

Remove the inners or the hood. I bet on of those will work.

There were three or four of you ... Y'all were right I was wrong unless you figure in the towing and then it feels just right . The louvers and inner fender scoops should get rid of a lot of the heat retention .

I am having a raw aluminum finish HyLine louvered hood panel shipped to Hendrix for some Mercedes black , and I will be building the inner scoops from sheet metal .

Also looking for a stock LJ cage if anyone has one they want to get rid of .

Hilarious and true ...

Todays Jeeping : I am stuck in a hotel in Northern Jersey hoping for good weather this weekend as I am headed home . Not much Jeeping right? Well in the midst of this sitting I am buying parts and planning a trip to Cape Lookout N.C.

How hot is it getting? Your Jeep shouldn't be overheating even if it was turning 5K RPM's. I would look at your cooling system.

The Jeep doesn't overheat , but the grille and hood are considerably hotter than it used to be . I do think I will go for a new water pump, high flow thermostat housing and new radiator if I end up driving to Utah for work next month .

I want to build a new cage , and it would be nice to have a stock cage to pull numbers from out of the tub . The latest revision I have come up with does away with all of the factory tube , so I might not need the cage after all.

My words of wisdom are build off the stock cage. It will be cheaper and much less of a headache in the long run. Go enjoy that LJ you just rebuilt. You don't have any racing specs to meet in your future...do you

What's wrong with your current cage and do you want to donate it to a good cause?

The stock cage is not made from the same quality metal that G would use to build a whole new one such as dom. And Racing specs? How about driving the family across country pulling a trailer specs? Using the stock cage as a base is nice for a trailered crawler slow speed only crawler maybe.

What does sunny say? If it is worth doing, it is worth overdoing.
