They can't possibly be 35's, because I have it on record that G Beasley WILL NOT go to 35's.

Pics tomorrow, and I don't fully recall that conversation...

Todays Jeeping ...

Today was pretty uneventful , minus the burglar alarm going off while we were still an hour from home . More about that later , on the way South we stopped by Speedy's in Lexington NC for some BBQ . It was great , but lacked the zing that the Eastern style BBQ I grew up with has .

After lunch we dodged thunderstorms on the way to Charlotte and then picked up the new to me tires and rims .

The plan is to use the best two tires on the rear of the LJ and order two new ones for the front . The two remaining tires will go on the trailer . I thought the wheels were just aluminum rims spray painted black , as it turns out they are teflon coated . This throws a little bit of a kink in my plan of stripping them and using them on the trailer . They are a little too nice to strip , so I think I will sell them and go back on the hunt for plain aluminum rims .

Shortly after loading up and getting on the interstate I got a phone call from ADT letting me know that the burglar alarm had been activated and that the police had been dispatched . After a tense 15 minutes or so we got the all clear from my 70 year old mother . She got to the house 15 minutes before the police did and she and the neighbor cleared the house . Afterwards with the help of ADT's diagnostics we were able to figure out that the motion sensor malfunctioned and needs to be replaced .

So all in all it was a good day , and the moral of this story is that little old lady that looks so sweet is probably packing a glock

I know the BFG's MT's have a better pedigree than the Firestone Destination MT's but the Firestones treated me well on and off road . If the Firestones were available in 35s they would have been at the top of my list . As it stands the BFG's were a fair deal and the money saved will allow me to regear when I get back from New York .

Careful, you might become addicted to buying used crap on NC4x4 like I have.

I wish I could sell as much as I buy on there , then this habit would be sustainable

I like how they look and they are much quieter than the firestones . So far so good .

On the shakedown run they rode great , and as mentioned above they are MUCH quieter than the Destination MT's . I was pretty surprised as I expected the BFG's to be a little louder . I do think a trailgate is in the near future , along with a compressor as I think I may drop carrying a spare .
