I finally got my Prothane bushings kit in the mail today! Took it to my mechanics and it the jeep should be back in about a week give or take a day or two!!! Im pumped. It should ride a ton better from what I've heard!!! Once he starts on it i will be taking a few pics everyday of the progress. Hopefully he will take my offer and let me give him a hand with a few things or something! Prolly not though.

Well i got to see the body off the frame. The frame is terrible. For only 10 years old you would think you were looking at an old CJ that was never cleaned...Heres a few pics. New frame awaits a few feet from the body. The new frame is in excellant condition. Like it just rolled off the assembly line new. Heres a few pics of the rusty frame.
I will also be replacing the rear upper control arms. I found a set today on a ZJ at a local salvage yard. Picking them up tomorrow.
I need to replace the exhaust manifold also which im still working on finding.
Need all the little plastic retainer clips for hold the fuel and brake lines to the frame.
I also have to get a local to fab up some J-Channels to weld in on the bottom of the tub that mounts to the frame. Check out the pic. Lastly my mechanic will be replacing a few brake line sections that look to be getting a little rough. Other than all of that and maybe new motor mounts it is okay...Not really anything too huge. I am hoping to have all the parts by the end of the week or monday and have my jeep back by friday next week tops!

I have an 01 tj and I just started rust prevention. I just painted frame with ospho! It is good stuff. you might want to look into it for your jeep

I bought some undercoating to throw on there when it gets everything bolted to the frame. I am gonna give it a few good coats before the body gets mounted.

Heres an up to date list of what i have had to replace during this swap.

Rear upper control arms, which i got off a ZJ at the local junk yard.
Complete Prothane Polyurethane Bushings Kit. Black
New Exhaust Manifold, old one had 4 leaks...
Brown Dog Motor Mounts.
New Grade 8 hardware for body mounts and control arms
Replaced the front axle with another dana 30 from a XJ. the brackets on mine were toast.
And i am now waiting on a 2004 steering box since mine is the older model and wont bolt to the new frame.

Hopefully it will be done by saturday. Who knows at this point. Its something new everytime i check with my mechanic. I have searched junk yards, jeep yards, forums and ebay and craiglist like a hawk...Almost done.

Wow, that is some serious rust for sure. Glad you are getting everything squared away with it though!

Yea it will definetely feel like a new jeep compared to the way it used to ride with all the worn out bushings and no upper control arms or shocks lol.
