Nice Jeep. I was thinking the same thing as Panici, there's no reason to get rid of stainless. Just paint it, and you don't have to worry about it rusting if it gets chips or whatever. I wish my Jeep looked that clean!

As much as I hate to admit it, all is not perfect with my YJ. It's not like this is going to go bad tomorrow...but here it is...
![]() RUST!!!! You can see the bubbles starting to form along the bottom of the weather stripping. So here's a question for those of you that have suffered this same fate...fix it, or replace it? |

Well I hit the trail at the Badlands yesterday (see trail reports) and put the new lift to the test. It did great. No rubbing, no strange noises and most importantly...do breakage!
I have to admit I was a bit concerned about my drive shaft angle...still am. I'm going to go a head with the SYE/CV conversion here in the near future. And for all of you who say my Jeep is too clean...here's a little mud on it..... ![]() Last edited by Jeffro06; 10-12-2007 at 09:26 AM.. |

Less Bling
Today I removed a little more bling...these went bye-bye.
![]() Rear tail light covers. ![]() Front turn signal covers. Not a big change, but change just the same. I should have gone to the Cliffs today......should of, could of... ![]() Last edited by Jeffro06; 10-12-2007 at 09:19 AM.. Reason: title |

I had the SYE/CV install done Tuesday. I also had the transfer case drop removed. That wasn't a good idea. The pinion isn't quite pointed where it should be, with 4 degree shims, so I will be ordering 8 degree shims (since I read on here, that 8 degree shims and no transfer case drop seems to be the trick).
In the mean time I put the transfer case drop back on. The vibration was sooooo bad I couldn't do 30 mph, without rattling my teeth out... I have a couple of weeks to fine tune it, before the next trip to the Badlands. |

8* shims
My 8 degree shims are on the way. Hopefully I'll have this whole driveline thing figured out soon. It's close....
