I need to find the time to take my gear out of my Jeep, take the trunk out and put the seat back in, clean it inside and out.....I mean really clean it. I need to do tire rotation and an oil change too. While I'm doing the tire rotation I need to check the torque on my spacer lugs, and make sure my brake calipers are mud free.......sounds like I have something to do this weekend.

I took the trunk out of my Jeep tonight, and put all my tools back in the garage. The stitching on the door stop strap on the passenger side broke on Saturday, so I sewed that back together. My CB wouldn't work Saturday, and I didn't mess with it at all, so tonight I took a look at it and found out the fuse slot it was in wasn't grasping the fuse holder tightly, so I moved it over one slot and presto the CB works again. My winch hook's safety latch is bent all to hell, so I ordered a thimble. I crawled under the Jeep and found it to be in good shape, aside from all the mud in and on the brakes, so I took the dog for a spin, stopped by the car wash and washed out my brakes.....boy did the mud flow. The wife says I need to vacuum the seats....I don't think she likes the cloud of dust that rises out of them when you hit them. Tomorrow I get my new windshield.

Oh, and my CD player ejected disc 2 Friday and now I can't get a disc to load into that slot.....I guess I have a 5 disc changer now.

Thats funny right there and the truth! So just wanted to check in and see how your Duratracs are holding up? I got one replaced for free due to a tear on the inner bead. Apparently when it was installed they accidentally tore the bead and I hear something rolling around in the tire thinking it was a rock and it was the part of the inner bead that tore off. So I got a new tire and kept the old one

I checked them to see how much wear compared to the new tire and with over 26,000 miles on them there is very little wear. The lugs are just a few mm lower so more than 1/2 life left on them.

I love the on road ride but mud is rough for them. They really become slicks and from your trip reports I think you would probably agree. Really impressed with how much wheeling you get to do I miss the badlands!

I wouldn't feel safe without my spare, so I'm happy to have the anchor. LOL

The Duratracs are holding up real well. I've rounded some edges a bit, but with all the rocks they've seen I'm pretty happy with them.

As for mud, not a huge fan of it anyway, but they've done alright. My Trxus MT's were way better. The Duratracs don't clean the sticky mud out to well, but I didn't get stuck this last time out until I put it in a big old sticky mud hole.

I'm on the work leash for two more weekends, so it'll be awhile before I can make my way to your house....or should I say your parents' house.....unless you're doing it in the hotel parking lot.

Sometimes those anchors come in handy.....even if they do bounce (or is it twerk) a bit.

Time to go out and spend some time on the Jeep. I went to drive it and it sounds like a rock is jammed in my front driver side brake. I need to rotate the tires, so I guess I'll do that and clean out the brake calipers.

So today's wrenching involved doing a 5 tire rotation @ 54,978 miles, which means I went 3,038 miles between rotations, and between oil changes, because it did one of those too. (Penzoil 10W-30 / Wix 51085 filter)

While I was doing the rotation I went ahead and removed the wheel spacers, calipers and rotors, and cleaned all that Badlands mud out of there. The front driver side had a bent rock shield, which was rubbing the rotor and squealing like crazy. The funny thing is it only started doing it today....go figure. I put everything back together, using red loctite on the spacer nuts and torqued them to 110 ft lbs. The wheel nuts were torqued to 95 ft lbs.

I do remember why I hate mud, that stuff is still all over the place.
