I'll keep that in mind. Hopefully I'll find the time to get the front uppers on this weekend.

Jeeps suck! Or at least the factory bolts they use do. Those stupid front upper control arm bolts with the flange on them suck, suck, suck. They spin and spin. I can't get vise grips on them, nor can I get a c-clamp to hold them.

I'm done screwing with this stupid *** jeep. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.

(Ok, not really, but I'm not going to kill myself trying to replace the front upper CA's)

Calm down.....go get a mid-size allen key, like 3/16" or 1/8" (needs to be big enough to not just slip through, you want to have to put a bit of effort into it) and jam it through the flange. You'll see what I'm talking about once you mess with it for a couple minutes--the key will catch and prevent the flange from spinning. I've used that trick on a bunch of them--always works.

I haven't thrown anything yet... I was trying to think of something to jam in there, didn't think of that, I'll give it a try in a bit.

What's the problem? If you set that allen wrench right, it will jam that flange until the wrench itself breaks.

Otherwise, got a saw zall? Cut the flange off and pull the bolt out. Problem fixed.

The allen wrench would catch, but then the flange would slip right over it. Maybe I did it wrong, I don't know. I do know the driver side looks even harder to deal with, so.....

I moved on to the Currectlync....it's on, and the jeep drives fine. I'll have the alignment checked, but it's driving straight...as near as I can tell, thanks to the 40 mph winds we're having.

I'll give the front upper CA's a rest, think about it, then decide what I want to do.

All the lower CA's are on, as are the rear upper CA's. The Currectlyn steering is on. I still have to figure out the front upper CA's, but so far everything seems to be working fine.

Just touching the bump stop, no fender rub or track bar rub.

One last upper CA update for the day: I managed to free the front passenger side bolts, frame and axle ends. However I can't get any leverage on the front driver side axle bolt. The frame end bolt is free. I may need to get an impact wrench on the axle end bolt, but I've reached my limit for the day. Time to get cleaned up, sit in my chair and enjoy the Daytona Supercross Race.

I did notice one minor "screw up" I did with the tie rod....the ends should be swapped, but the zerks don't hit anything and I can get to them to grease them, so who really cares?

Edit: I cared. I took the time, about 20 minutes, to flip the tie rod ends to where they are supposed to be. It was quick, easy and now the zerks are where they need to be to get to them for greasing, and I don't have to worry about the zerks hitting anything when the wheels are turned.

I took my dog for a ride, did a little articulating of the jeep while I was out. It sounds as though I have the slightest bit of something hitting something as my rear wheels go up and over a large-ish hump. I wonder if it's the track bar hitting the diff.

What's up Jeffro...remember me? The jeep looks great. I'm hoping to buy something exactly like what you have later this fall. Can't wait!
