They wouldn't just unplug, with a simple pull and the wires won't feed through the gate, as the grommet is holding them pretty darn good.

I may just ditch it, or find someone to do the welding without removing the carrier.

We had some major winds last night, which closed some of the main roads today, for many hours. By the time I got off work and was able to go drive around in the Jeep, things weren't really all that bad.

This is Hwy 251, which is our main 2-lane to Rockford.

The drifts were all the way across the road, prior to bringing out the giant snowblower. There were lots and lots of vehicles that had to be towed out too.

This is a country road that runs parallel to Hwy 251.

Just to give you some perspective as to how tall the drifts were, prior to the plows.

I'm ready for more. I'd like a good old snow storm, with 8-12 inches of it, in about an 8 hour period.

More snow over night last night, which meant more shoveling and snow blowing this morning.

The wife and I took the Jeep to Rockford to catch "Lone Survivor" this afternoon. The roads were snow covered, the wind was blowing and it was even snowing a bit....that's right it was fun as hell.

We just got 10" of snow here....I...h.a.t.e snow! with a passion. We neeeever get snow. When you said it was the closest you get to wheeling, I cracked up. I had fun driving in ours too but thank goodness it wasn't anything like what you got.

10 inches? Really? Cause I'd love a snowfall like that. We got about four more last night, they were predicting more.

I removed my stock tire carrier today, it's been cracking under the weight of the spare, in fact it looks as if the spare took a hit on a rock somewhere and actually bent the bracket the tire hangs on.

It looks pretty good like this, but it can't stay this way, I have to have my spare and I can't leave it inside the Jeep....I have kids you know.

And here is a shot of the Jeep from today:
