Dang... I am impressed with the dash. That looks good. I like that you used the scrap from the bread truck.

my mom picked up a full tank of argon while I was away at work this week.
So now I was able to weld up the dash and steering wheel column.

I wanted to keep the adjustable steering wheel, but the factory setup would mean I would have to cut a giant hole in my dash to clear the mechanism. I tried several things to try to move it and clear the dash but I said hell with it and solid mounted it for right now.

Then I connected the steering box to the steering wheel shaft.

Finally I was able to make one of the rear link covers. The other one will have to wait till the morning.

I'm feeling the same way as I read through this build...That's alright though.

This is an absolutely sick build. Great job taking lots of pictures of the progress!

I especially like the front bumper/winch setup; looks very clean!

not much got done today. Of coarse my luck have it. I just filled the tig tank and guess what. I ran out of mig wire. Just when I need it to weld up my rear axle. There anit no way I am tig-ing all of that lol

So I decide to use the drill press as a lathe and make a new throttle pin. The old 4bt one wasnt long enough for the tj throttle cable.

New on the right, old on the left

Then I got the tabs for the rear suckdown winch made up and welded on.

Then I my bro asked me to fab up some running boards for his truck.
So we worked on that.

I also couldnt help to play with the winch and test her out

I could have used the cable off the van, but it was to long imo to wrap up there nicely. The TJ cable is much shorter. You can also just use a small #10 bolt, but I wanted to be fancy and all. lol

Its used so when your descending on a steep incline you can suck the rear down before going over the edge. That way your rear end cant preload and push you off the rocks. Also lowers your COG while descending. Its the same idea of why people use from suck down winches while climbing steep angles.

Dude.....

I can't freaking wait to see this thing. You do realize that after downing a 12 pack, I'll be sitting in your cab all night playing with the suck-down winches, right?
