The reason my 7075 tie rod bent, was because I was hauling *** in a wet rock garden and nailed the tierod right on a rock.
That 7075 is strain hardened, it most likely will not like being straightened...

Been busy with my cad skills workin on some projects for some friends. They all seemed to ask for help at the same time.

First off we got JForse dash. Modeled and lay it flat in solidworks. Going to cut it out this weekend.

Then I started to model the rear end of Jeffro's jeep. Going to be making a rear tire carrier for him.

Then finally I am designing an Ultra 4 chassis completely in cad. This is all I have so far. Got this done in one weekend. I have ALOT of work left to finish this up so we can get all the tubes plasma cut on my table.

The chassis is going to be as detailed as possible. Got some tires and wheels modeled just for reference.

To be fair I didn't actually ask for help....you insisted, I had no choice in the matter....but I'm very much appreciative.

Thanks, Its not to bad. I have about 3 hrs in the dash, 2 full days (20hrs) in the chassis so far, and the tire was about 2hrs, and Jeffro's model is about 2hrs including resizing the tire model to a 35" that's not show yet.
Im not the fastest in modeling, but also I do have quite a bit of experience in it to be efficient.

I wish I stayed in the machining side of the drafting trade. When I left Corning a bunch of my colleagues were just starting to do the beta testing for Inventor & here I am now, stuck in 2D AutoCAD drawing concrete walls. instead of having a sweet *** modeling program to draw & design all my parts.

Who's the U4 chassis for?

Its not hard to use. But then again I have been using it for like 6 or so years now.

The first chassis is for "ET" (Chris Brown). The second one will probably be for myself

So today I signed a lease for a 25x40' shop down by where I work.
Now time to start moving the tools out of the parents place.
