Jeepster1407's Project Take 2
Well i figured I'd go ahead and start a build thread for my new toy. I traded my Built 95' TJ for a 2000 TJ. Well here it is in all her beauty. This is a Pic the PO sent me.
When I got it there was a 4" skyjacker suspension lift with a 1" body lift. I think the BL is Teraflex because all the 1" pucks are aluminum. It also has a new set of 5 285/75/16 Toyo open country M/T's and 5 Moto Metal 951b's with a fair amount of rock rash.
It had a set of JKS quick disconnects installed but they were all seezed up and one of the welds broke so I have replaced them with a set of Rough Country ones. They seem to be built well surprisingly. I'd Deffinately recommend them.
My favorite thing about it I guess is the 4.0 & rear 44. These are also pic the Previous owner sent me.
So far all I have build a front bumper, Rocker Guards, change the soft top to black, add a CB, converted all the interior lights to LED, added some Rigid Dually's, and fix a few broken parts. The shocks could use replacing and hopefully ill be getting a winch sometime in the future, in the mean time Ill be updating this as the mods come.

Looking good! What are the short and long-term plans?
Thanks, I have recently installed some rockers I made here at work. I'll work on getting pics of them.
This build will be nothing crazy since i have my firstchild on the way in August. That's the main reason I traded my YJ was for something a little more comfortable for the future little one. Short term goals (next 6 months) include Winch for the front, custom Tire carrier for the rear, H4 headlights, either a 12" light bar above the winch fairlead or a 20" bar on the hood, an aussie up front, & TJ tie rod.
Long term goals include building a HP30 with truss, 4.56 gears, HD control arm mounts, tube seals, chromos, and Solid diff cover. Then purchasing some selectable locker for the rear 44 (I had an ARB a while back and it was great so thats probably the route im going to take), reagearing to 4.56 and a Solid diff cover for the rear. Then I'll install a SYE and "flater" skid.
I'm looking at the Smittybilt XRC 8 Comp winch because I really want synthetic rope. I had a Warn M8000 befor and It was great but I hated the wire cable. What are some opinions on the XRC8? I heard the whinch hook needs to be replaced which smittybilt will do and the grease could use repacking with lighter grease to make freespool better. any other cons? Or does anyone have some other suggestions for a cheaper end winch that comes with rope instead of cable?
Sounds like solid build plans for a capable Jeep!
Don't settle for a Smitty winch just to get the synthetic line. Buying a better Warn winch now, and upgrading to synthetic line later would be the route I would take.
With Warn's "VR" line being so affordable, I would pass up all the budget winches.
Take a look at the VR8000...it's only $480. (the XRC8 is $450)
I'm not knockin' the XRC winch, just saying I would spend the extra $30 initially on the Warn, and then come back later for a synthetic line.
Yea I may look into that also. Thanks for the tip!
Well I havent updated this in a while. A few more mods have been added.
Heres a pic of the rockers I made here at work.
I then purchased a winch from a guy on a local forum that was brand new in the box.
I painted the fairlead because that was just to much bling for me.
Then in order to mount the fairlead i had to either weld up a mount to my bumper or come up with a bolt on mount so i came up with this and a made it here at work.
Heres a pic of the winch mounted on the bumper with the bracket I made.
I added a 13.5" hanma-auto light bar that is wicked bright. Again i needed a place to put it so I fabbed up another mount at work to place it above the hawse fairlead.
Next I found some switches I liked over at OTRATTW and a stero that worked. The one that came in the jeep was broken.
Next I plan on adding a winch hoop / stinger to protect the light bar
I have the same light bar above/in front of my winch, and the cubes on the windshield.
I added a Winch hoop above the Light Bar for a little extra protection.
I also made a step to assist my Pregnant wife get in a little easier.
I made some light mounts at work so I can run two sets on windshield lights.
Here's some crappy cell pics of them.

Had a new windshield installed today. The old one had a small chip in it but the seal around it leaked when it rained so the wife was tired of getting wet.
Any updates to this? I'm sure with a little one things have slowed. Got here from TXST8tjs build.
Not to many updates. I got a hard top , diff protection, done some maintenance on it. I've got a good pile of parts to install but we're building a house, my brother in law is building a house, and my father in law is building a house ands a big shop and were all contracting it ourselves so time is limited to say the least.
Not many updates here... This past weekend we went To Morris Mountain and did some light wheelin'. On the way down my belt tensioner decided to explode as I was going around 285 in ATL so it was fun changing that on the side of the RD. Here's a few pics that someone else took. As usual I forgot to take any pics of myself...
I've been working on this switch panel on and off lately..... What do you think?
