Last Saturday I was able to tack the lower link mounts together and finish planning front suspension locations. Trying to get all the numbers to work right is more difficult than expected. Driver side has issues with keeping the front upper frame mounts low enough and not cause potential issues with a drive haft drive shaft carrier bearing and the exhaust

Not sure how I like it but looking for input. 6" uptravel right now clears the engine by about .25" at max full bump. If I bump the WB out 2" to 112" I can gain more uptravel I believe. The other option is to run 1.5"od upper arms.

Anyway. Anti squat is at around 110

Welcome to trying to 4 link a front of a Jeep, the damm 4.0 will allways be in the way.
Not saying it cant be done but you will limit alot of what you want as a finall result out of the that front axle, this is why most will run a 3 link.
Oh and dont bump it out to a 112" without rear steer you will have a bad turning radius and your break over angle will suck.

Heck I'm 107" with rear steer and I hate my break over angle, the rear steer makes it alot better when I high center.

Jason.

1993 YJ 4.0 60 Front, Rear steer 60, bolth spooled, 5.38's, 700r/241 39.5 iroks and beating it like it owes me money.

And on the 8th day, God created the 14 bolt...

Thanks it's a fun place to be...

What are your specs Jason. Right now I think ya 23" bottom of frame to floor. If I go higher it will also help fix issues. I haven't ruled out a 3 link but we'll see

Its been awhlie since I messured my belly but i'm 107", 39" Iroks, still sprung over in the front, 4 linked rear with steering and around a 22" belly. But my belly hieght changed when I had to install the 241 T-case, I had to make a bump out in the some what flat skid, so I have this extra little pimple sticking out that I allways seems to hit.

I fought with a 4 link for a few weeks and time was ticking on my finish date, all that time I waisted on trying to tweak this, move that I still ran into exhuast, front bell crank and drive shaft problems.
I could have done a 3 link with little effort, some problems would have come up i'm sure of it but I know I could have over come those vs a 4 link. But again I waisted time on a 4 link and I wanted to make a the trail that seasoin.

Again not trying to piss on the 4 link idea, I love when I see it pulled off in a TJ/YJ one ton Jeep, casue I know its alot of work and I respect those who can pull it off.
But It also means they maybe had to displace there motor to one side, or raise it, or push the front out, or whatever else they had to do to get it shoe horned in there.

Front is like 10" out

Motor is 1.5-2" up. Up as high as I could get it with a 1" bl

If I do heims and 1" id uppers it should all fit

Have seen a Tj 4 link that used a wishbone setup for the upper, it had the single part of the wishbone hooked to the axle at the diff housing. Other than the funky steering it seemed to work very well.
Depending on trails 110-113" wheelbase works very well.
Can make them climb like a mountain goat.
Nice study in climbing ability

Question for ya, wouldn't it be easier to trangulate the lower control arms and run the uppers on the outside of the frame?
Would solve a bunch of clearance issues

I have thought about triangulating the lowers but wasn't sure how to I would route them around the engine and trans.

Today the front axle is now welded to frame so I can transport hopefully next week. Rear hubs are on just to roll it. Hoping to pull out of garage next weekend and drag it on the trailer.

Custom rear suspension and rear rollers on. Gooseneck also got new tires today since they very dry rotted and cracked.

The jeep has to come out of garage this weekend or next so the clock is ticking

Front supports are the same. It has to make a 75 mile journey north soon.

Both king pins are out and the pass side lower bearing is out. Break time to go watch the Louisville Cardinals play in the final four
