jeepinbassist's 95 Grand Cherokee Build

Finally ordered my lift so I decided I'd start a build thread before it gets here.

First a little history, My ZJ started out in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The PO moved to Centerville, Utah. After a couple years of living there the PO wrecked it. The Jeep was rolled in the accident and salvaged. The insurance company sold it to my uncle(a car dealer) who then rebuilt it and sold it to my family in 2005. After a few accidents because of my mom(backed in to a moving snowplow, the occasional fender bender). Finally after all of the abuse the Jeep came into my possession. I had it for about a month before the front right U-joint went out so I replaced both of them. Then a month after that the fuel pump went out so it sat for another month until I got around to replacing it. Since then I've treated her well and I've become addicted to my Just Empty Every Pocket.

Sound System

Right now I'm running a Sony X-Plode Head with 6x9 Pioneers in all the doors. I have a 12" Pioneer sub running off of a 360-watt Crossfire Amp.

To fit the 6x9's I had to cut the metal from the original speakers wider with tin snips and then I used a dremmel tool to cut the plastic door panels wider.
I'll add some pics of this later because there are none on my computer.

Hood Scoops

This was one of my bordom projects. I wanted to do a cheap mod to make it a little more unique. I decided to get some hood scoops. Some don't like them but I think they look alright and they do add a little uniqueness. I was also going to add some louvers in the 5.9 place but I haven't found ones I like yet.

Fog Lights

Jeep light output isn't great. Mine is alright because my lights are pretty new but before I did this mod I had a hard time seeing things because my lights are screwed in from the top because the clips on the back are broken and they were terribly unaligned. So the fogs helped out with the light problem.

Dash Lights

A couple of my bulbs went out so I decided to upgrade them to LEDs and also make them red. I'm really happy with the outcome. I also drilled some holes and ran some wires for switches.

Looks good man. Can't even tell it's been in an accident.
What lift did you go with?

I went with the IRO 3.5" f>r. If you look at the doors on the left side they look kinda wavy from when the damage was hammered out. There is also a big dent under the bumper cover from whatever they hit.

CB Radio

I mounted up a CB radio a while ago it sits underneath the steering wheel on the right side. For the antenna I went with a seven foot firestick. I love the looks I get when people see it

3.5" IRO F>R Swap

I put the lift on about two months ago. I gained almost 4.5" so I'm pretty happy about that. I had 235's with the stock rims on for a while.

New Tires/Rims

I recently started working for Discount Tires. During my first week we were throwing away a used set of 31's with a little less than half the tread left, I asked if I could have them...Free Tires!

A couple weeks later one of the people I work with asked me if I wanted a set of D windows that he was going to throw away...Free Rims!

I also went and played around in the mud from the recent storms.

Before and After

The first picture was taken about a year ago when I first started driving it. This was the first time I ever got her muddy. Completely bone stock.

The second picture is how it looks now. Finally happy with how it looks...for now.

I've recently developed death wobble, replacing control arm bushings soon since that is all I can find that is severely worn.

Looks good man. Toss that POS bumper cover out and get something worth while.
