What procedure did you use to bleed the brakes?

I had my wife pump the brakes three times and then push and hold while opened and closed the bleeder while she held the pedal.

So before dinner I was able to pull the MC to double check the push rod. I am dialed in at one half inch from the face of the booster. There was a nice big woosh from the booster so I know that seems to be working.

I pulled the front tires and had my wife press the pedal while I turned the rotors (12.5 " Fords) and the calipers engaged and stopped them. So both calipers are actually moving. Last nights observation was incorrect.

So is this a clamping force issue? Smaller bore MC?

I jacked up the rear end and was able to turn the tires without the bake depressed and could not when the brake was depressed. At least those components seem to be working.

So it leads me to believe this is a clamping force issue. The pedal is firm as heck when the engine is off, but when it is on, the pedal goes to the floor.

Go back to the TJ MC with hydroboost? I also need to read up on gutting the proportioning valve, but IIRC the valve is the same in both set ups in a Jeep and that shouldn't make a difference right?

So I put the TJ MC back in today, what an improvement. I can lock it up at 30 mph. I can come to a decent stop at 55.

I am going to look into hydroboost as well.

Acceptable is a relative term! They are better than with the Ram 2500 MC. They are not as good as they were. That is to be expected.

The way they were with the Ram MC...I wasn't going to go to Moab. There was no way I would take it on the interstate or a attempt a climb on Hells Revenge.

Now I think I could at least stop from 65 MPH. I will find out for sure this weekend!

But the first order of business in Moab will be to duck out on Fins and Things and see if I can hold it still on some of the little fins that dump out to sand. That way if I can't hold it, no big deal...it was only a 10 foot ledge. Not a terrifying death roll like the famed video from the old Lions Back.

Yes, I have set up full hydro buggys with Hydro boost running on a single Chevy P-pump.

Glad to here you got some peddle back, like I said I had a the OEM YJ master for years and swapped to a TJ cause the YJ went out on me one day and this was goiving to me.
Works great, but in your case eather disc the rear or hydro boost it and it should offer the calmping force your needing.

Out of curiosity... what was the setup process done on the 2500 master? Don't masters need bench bled? I'm not specifically familiar... but for some reason I think a brand new master needs a lot of attention to get it set up initially????
