Soon enough we will all be jealous of you. Black bear, Imogene, and all in your back yard! Went to "tons of trucks" today and my son climbed all over a bunch of Ryan's rigs!

Yes... Can't beat the scenery down here... But not sure there is much hardcore wheeling around... Farmington has some I think.

I've never been able to be a part of tons of trucks. I hear it is pretty neat.

I hear Choke Cherry in Farmington is a hardcore wheel where ever place. No trails, just drive where you want. Like no place I've ever been

Thanks. The Clayton setup has served me well. For instance, on my last trip to Moab I got stuck at the back of a 23 vehicle train of xterras....not that they were formidable

I was running solo with my family on Top of the World and we cleaned a ledge (nothing big) that had them all hung up. We then passes all 22 of their rigs on the trail (their tail gunner was behind me).

The set up is plenty strong and does more than I have the skill to make it do... I am the weak point.

Maintenance

A few days ago I changed out my plugs. The OEM NGK plugs came out and some Autolite APP985's went in. Some of the old plugs had degraded to .075!

I also drained the radiator and refilled with some Zerex G05. Next up mainenace wise is the transmission.

I got a new Teraflex hand throttle sitting in the garage to intstal! I know some of you are thinking why not piece it together by yourself, but it was only $36.00. I'm not sure I could do my own stuff for less

I pieced mine together... But I have tons of bike stuff so it didn't cost a thing. That is one of my favorite mods... I barely used my foot all day on the trail. Need to get it set up on the diesel... But the pedal is electronic so I have to find a way to run the cable to the pedal. Money well spent!

Tons of bike parts? I wouldn't have guessed . A pile of Jeep parts now that I've seen.

I am interested to see how this will work and how it changes my driving. No more stalls or giving it to much to not stall and ...flop...

My best friend got into stripping and building old bikes... So I had a LOT to choose from when I did mine... My personal collection is a bit smaller... I move too much to have large piles of bike, or jeep parts lying around. Most of my jeep parts have either been sold or thrown in a car to be crushed.

Hoover doesn't use his all that much... But I used mine almost entirely! Even on the drives between obstacles... It takes some of the jerkiness out of little bumps. I even use it on the street at times. It became second nature. Make it as usable as possible with location. Hoover has his set up for base of his palm... I had mine set up for thumb and forefinger. Try different ways until you see what is best for you.

I set mine up so maxed out it would go just shy of redline in neutral... That way when I dumped the clutch it wasn't over-revving it... But then you also likely have a reliable rev limiter. Down side to maxing it right below redline with no load is that under load you won't have access to full throttle... And you may need to use the pedal to give a little extra at times. When it is needed you aren't likely to need three feet so I didn't mind that too much.
