GOOD NEWS: the 1st gen intercooler fits like it was made for it.its a tight squeeze from side to side but it fits.the rod support for the grill was a perfect mounting spot.the factory bolts just lined up with it so all I had to do was drop it in.

I like this build thread a lot. I'm defiantly going to be checking this thread out in the future.
Nice build an good luck

If I could of saw this thread before, I would of told you to rotate the axle so that the pinion is pointing up a little taking some stress off of the driveshaft.

I've been trying to convince my dad to allow me to put the 4bt in my cj, but he won't let me because he doesnt want me to take over the garage. Lol

Its a little late but I was reading they said get a set of v8 motor mounts and move the up 1 inch and the fit. I bet the frame will break/bend before those 6bt mounts do.

A jeep v8 rad will also works great, and mounts to factor grill mounts.

You should put the cj front clip on, it will look a lot better than those square headlights. IMHO

Are you getting tube fenders and flares or just leaving it stock.

Thanks for the input man..my axle perch's aren't welded yet so I can still set my pinion angle.I'm going to drop my drive train in and get it all lined up,then make mounts for the motor and trans.after that ill set my pinion angle higher,I ordered a super short sye and tom woods drive shaft. And yeah its a little late to change out motor mounts,I agree,I like the fact of knowing the 6bt mounts will out last anything else. And yes I had thought about the cj front end,I think the cj grill looks better, but I ain't to picky as long as I have a jeep that's able to go off road, and be my dd I'm happy with.I might switch it out in the future.and fender flares,I'm pretty sure I'm going to do away with the stock ones..I want to try and fab up my own fenders, but i might fail.so if all else does fail ill give in and buy some from smity bilt or something.

Great build man. I will also be watching this closely. Like the work on the motor mounts. Nice work. I am currently putting a 4bt in my TJ.

Bought a super short sye from JB conversions..it was 100$ more for the super short, but with the lift I have on my jeep my drive shaft and yokes will appreciate the extra 3 inches..Ill be buying a c/v drive shaft from tom woods soon..well maybe not too soon,I got 2 tickets this week, from a couple of pigs with nothin better to do.smh
