Wow, what a great build! I just looked at this for the 1st time, I looked through all 12 pages.

I love threads like these...what great fab work, and it's really cool too see something different like this.

The end result looks amazing, I'm sure it was definitely worth the time, effort, and $$. It must be a blast to drive that thing, it must turn heads like nothing else.

So when is the Hemi swap happening??

Thanks. It turns heads quite a bit. I'm not sure most people know what it is and have to keep staring to figure it out.

I don't think I'll ever be doing a hemi swap. When this engine blows I want to put a diesel in it, a small one like the one that came in some Liberties from the factory. That will be after I'd swap some 60s under it and running 37s though.

I've got a buddy with a diesel KJ and he gives me crap about it all the time. When I bought it, I wanted 0% financing and they weren't offering it on the diesels so I got mine instead. I really wish I had that engine, but I prefer the looks of my Renegade styling a whole lot over the bug eyed look of the other KJs which includes the diesel. Someday it will have one, I hope anyway.

Looks really nice, well done

What did you discover regards the bump steer though? I went through the same issues on my junk too with bump steer.....
Got everything worked out now though, thank god!
Post some close ups of the front end and lets have a look how it sits on the ground.m Also, what are the caster/camber measurements?

You know, I never realized the difference in the front ends till you pointed it out a few pages ago. It's a huge diff, it really makes the look of the Rengade.

One thing I always hated about the KJ was the stupid bug eyes, it makes me think of a frog.

I don't have any measurements on hand, but to fix the bumpsteer I bought a new pitman arm for my Ford steering box (one with zero drop to it) and then I had it reamed on top for the drag link so I could flip it. Problem solved. I'll get some front end pics ASAP.

Yeah, I have no idea what Jeep was thinking with the shape of the grill. It does look like a frog or like those chevron cartoon cars. I'm not a fan of them but the Renegade grill and hood looks really good to me and still remains a solid looking jeep front end.

Good deal on the fix mate!
Thats the only reason I asked for foto's.
I had the same issues, but had to redo all the steering and trac bar junk...

Yeah, I was really happy when it fixed the issue. Then the passenger side upper control arm mount (that I was too dumb to remember to box in) caved in and I had to fix it. I took of the upper arm and it was under a ton of pressure. So I shortened the upper arms to relieve the pressure that I figured was the cause of my caved in mount and I ended up with death wobble at around 40mph. I had way too much positive caster and I reset it to 6 degrees and it went away and drives like a dream now.

I ran Bronco Canyon last Saturday and the KJ did great. Even with all the snow and ice, I was really pleased with the jeep's performance.
