Jeep SAS Project

Well, I have posted a bit here and there on here and figured I'd share my current project. It is a 2005 Liberty KJ, bought it new and have been adding bits and pieces here and there for a while now. Finally decided to take the plunge and get a real front axle under it. It is currently at the shop getting lifted about 8"s and getting some 35" tires under it. Project should be done soon.

Parts list:

1. Front HP D30 out of an XJ, Solid Diff Cover, JKS control arm skids, 4.88's, Aussie Locker, Warn 5x4.5 Hub Kit, Warn inner and outer Chromo Shafts and the WJ knuckle/brake/steering conversion w/ chevy 3/4 ton TRE's and heavy duty 1.25x.219 drilled and tapped tie rod and drag link = $850
2. Rubicon Express Extended Steel Braided Brake Lines = $50
3. Fox 2.0 Coil Over Shocks = $207 each (2) Fox-980-99-004-A
4. QA1 2.5id 10” #250 upper springs = $37 each (2)
5. QA1 2.5id 10” #300 lower springs = $37 each (2)
6. OME 864 Rear Springs = $75
7. Edelbrock #63914 Xtreme Travle IAS Medium Valving Rear Shocks = $35.95 each (2)
8. 35x12.5x15 Goodyear MT/R Kevlar = $196.60 ea. (4)
9. Rear 8.25 - 4.88 gears = $250
10. Rubicon Express Sway Bar Disconnects and TJ Sway Bar = $40
11. Front Drive Shaft = $275
12. Rear Drive Shaft = $305
13. Ford Steering Box = $90
14. Custom Exhaust = $400
15. Rubicon Express Long Arm Kit = $1,200
16. Long Arm and Coilover mounting = $350
17. Rubicon Express Extreme Duty Front Track Bar = $130
18. Yukon Alloy Axle Shafts for the Chrysler 8.25 = $250

I am also looking to buy a Rock Trac t-case out of a Rubicon to replace the 231 that is in there now.

Pics to follow...

front end taken apart.

Approximate ride height for the front end.

another front end parts shot, anyone need a KJ IFS setup???/

these are shots of the motor mounts that needed to be plasma'd to get the IFS cradle off and then cleaned up to be reused.

and this is the cardboard cutout of what the frame stiffeners will look like.

And for those wondering, I am not doing this work in my garage, and I am actually not doing this work at all.

The fabricator doing the work for me is named Chris and he does custom airplane and jeep work, as well as build awesome off road trailers. His work is some of the cleanest and best I have ever seen.

Here is the site for his trailers, and the yellow jeep in his gallery was his TJ he built and put a turbo in.

Check his stuff out, it is top notch.
