Maybe they can make a bolt in plug for your hinge. It wouldn't fix the fact you don't have lights but you wouldn't have to buy a whole new bumper and just put the carrier on when you hit the trails.

That's a pretty good idea. I'll give them a call tomorrow to see what they think. The current bumper has the lights, so the only downside would be an aesthetics one.

I'd love to hear what they say and you come up with. I just ordered a JCR and I'm a little nervous about visibility our the rear. How bad was it when you had yours on?

JCR didn't have anything to offer produced by them, but suggested a rubber cap/plug to fit over the spindle. A quick search on McMaster hasn't turned anything up, but I'm pretty sure I could find something there. Another alternative would be to get a second bearing housing and tighten it down on the spindle when the tire carrier is not on the bumper.

I'll probably still try to sell the current bumper though and get a standard one when afterwards.
