90mph!? You guys haul a$$! I think I've hit 80mph and backed it down from there because you could literally watch the fuel gauge drop as you drove.

Haha, I don't think I'll be hitting 90mph! Like I've mentioned I really like to enjoy cruising in the Jeep, to a from the trail or just for a ride up the coast on a summer day.

Gas mileage is terrible at that speed so I've never even considered calculating it. I'd say 8 isn't too far off.

Yeah I hate when the speed limit goes up to 70 mph or even 65, I would much rather cruise at 55 or 60.

On my drive out west with Mike I hit 90 a couple times but was afraid my jeep would fall apart at that speed

On another note, these just came in:

Thanks to JF, I was able to track down the last piece of the CJ tailgate puzzle. Now just for some warmer weather, before it gets thrown on..

Are those the Southco ones? Can you get pics of the back/the actual latch? Want to see how I can make them latch on my trailer.

Yea Southco. $30 for the pair on ebay. I'll take some pics in a bit. They aren't assembled yet.

They seem to be the perfect size to put on both sides on the strip right between the lip/bend of the tailgate and above the center 'Jeep' section where it gets raised up.. If you get what I mean.

They are adjustable so you can put the catch right where you want it.And the other bronzish piece is to hold the latch from the inside.

Waiting to see how this turns out. Recently came to my attention as well and my interest is peaked.
