Inca Gold TJ Build Thread

Well, I figured it was about time for me to start one of these. We got this Jeep in November of 2003, Inca Gold was only offered in the 2003 models.

Out 2003 Wrangler X came from the factory with a 4.0L, the ECCO wheel/tire package, and some Westin side steps, D30 & D35 with 3.07s.

Here are my current specs:
33x12.5R15 MT Baja Claws
2" Spacers with SkyJacker Hydros
Rubicon Springs
1.25" JKS BL & 1" BMML
Warn Front Bumper
LoD Rear with tire carrier
BTF Rockers
AEV Oil Pan Skid
Steering Box Skid
Currie Tie Rod
KC Slimlights
Aussie Locker in the D30 with Riddler cover
Uniden 520 XL CB

I installed everything but the Aussie myself with the help of a few friends. I tried pulling the shafts but the bolts did not want to come out, so I had my local shop install it. They know what they are doing, about three employees have PSC Bruisers.

Here are some random before/after pics:

Completely stock, learning how to drive a stick without my license.

'flexing'

In the local mountains, with just a BB and the bumper end caps removed.

Wheeling on a trail behind my house.

Then, I threw on the 33s and a BL around Homecoming of my senior year, here is the prank we did. (Our schools colors were green and gold)

Behind my house again

and with the new BTF rockers installed, still with stock flares.

I also put on the LoD Tire Carrier this past thanksgiving. No install pics, but the pictures from Moab 2009 will show it.

I then picked up some Rubicon flares.
Pic of just the front flares on, no rear flares.

Here are some pics from our trip to Moab in 2008:

Here are the most recent pics from the past weekend in Moab. We ran Moab Rim and Poison Spider Mesa.

Moab Rim:

Coming down the Z-Turn.

Poison Spider:
Coming up the waterfall:

V-Notch

and my Dad's new 09 Rubicon

Both trails are awesome. The first part of Moab Rim was my favorite, and the waterfall/switchback/V-notch area on Poison Spider Mesa.

I'll post later about future plans and what not.

Edit: I know there are a LOT of pictures haha.... ignore some of them if you wish. I'm just trying to show how its changed.

My good friend Jon gave me an Aussie Locker for my D30 as a belated birthday gift (I guess? haha). I had it installed before Moab, and wow, I really noticed a difference. I had no trouble with anything of some pretty difficult obstacles to most people. I got in a bit of a jam on Moab Rim, but I had enough room to give it some gas, and my locker pulled me right up (the pic of that obstacle is the second one under the Moab Rim section). I really am pleased with it, and it has made no or very little noise on the street.

Here are my future plans (within the next year):
Genright Stubby bumper with grill guard/stinger
Winch (maybe a Superwinch with synthetic line)
Tummy Tuck with SYE and adjustable control
New springs and shocks
GPS (hopefully I'll order that today )
more lights
order the rest of the parts for my Viair OBA setup (I already have the 440P portable compressor, so I am planning on getting the wiring/tubing/tank/gauges necessary to make it a hard mounted setup)

and that's about it for now...

I will have a garage at my house for this next school year. I have a fair amount of tools right now, but I might buy some more as need be. I'm hoping I could run some air tools with my OBA setup, but we will see. Any suggestions as to what good tools I should acquire? Besides a good floor jack, I NEED to get one of those soon.

I go to CSU in Fort Collins, and I plan to go on the monthly trail runs with the Larimer County 4x4 Club (I thoroughly enjoyed the three runs I did with them in the Spring). I will make it a priority to run Kelly Flats in August sometime.

I never quite realized how many trails Colorado had until I picked up a few books in Ouray on my way back from Moab. I am excited to start running some of these when I head back up to CO in 3.5 weeks. I would like to do Black Bear Pass, and some other ones around Ouray / Silverton / Telluride. If I can, maybe I will make a trip in the fall down there over a long weekend. I am going to live in an absolutely beautiful state for the next 4-5 years, I might as well make the most of it.

I agree!

Spyder6 - I wish I could. I heard its a whole different type of wheeling. I personally like rocks more than mud though. Meet you halfway?

AlTheKiller - Yep, the Cerro Grande Fire. Burned almost 50,000 acres around and in Los Alamos.

Sure, we can drive on a few dirt roads? haha. Get out to Moab ASAP. Much better than mud. You could do almost every trail there too.

My new Garmin 255W

My CB, external speaker, and antenna setup

I have not tuned my CB yet, I still need to pick up an SWR meter somewhere. I have more pics of the CB and antenna mount if anyone wants to see.
