Chill on this.... 3" last night which basically shut the city down. We don't know how to handle snow. I would be wheeling right now if I had possession of the jeep.... or at least drifting thru the streets of downtown!

It's so crazy how it seems like the entire country is having the exact opposite winter as we are here. It's only even rained ONCE since spring. Terrible…. the Sierra's have basically no snow. I would love some actual weather right now.

We're a few inches away from breaking the January snowfall record which has stood since 1978, in which we had "the blizzard of '78."

It's the coldest winter I can remember, too.....just about every morning has been in the negatives and highs have been in the + single digits. I can't wait for spring.

It's only rained one day this whole month, and it snowed one day last month. We're on emergency drought conditions! Gonna be an ugly summer up here! I here Wentworth Springs rd to Loon lake is wide open, and I bet you can run the Con right now! Crazy!

That is pretty damn cool. About way to cold. I spent a couple weeks up in chi-town and Minneapolis a couple winters back and do not know how yall do that. Good luck with the cold because some of us arent cut out for that (or need bigger jackets and a lot more layers).

This might be a record snow fall for us. This has only happened 3 times that I remember since I was born. This is only the second time it stuck I believe.

I can mail you some snow if that will help your conditions out there? haha. Yeah, that sounds like it could cause some real bad fires when it warms up. At least you will have some dry conditions.... for wheeling.

Well, just walked over to the painters shop.... 3 blocks from office and snuck this picture before going to ask the status again.

Rant on! I left the jeep with them (biggest paint/wreck place in town) on monday and they said I would have it back on wednesday. I have a quote for the work and it list how many hours are for each stage and what all that includes. But at the bottom it says something like this is not the price, but an estimate. When the paint on the hood and tailgate were quoted, she brought out the "fiberglass specialist" to inspected the hood and quoted the time involved. He said he was an offroaded and knew that the jeep was a wheeler.... we talked about the finished and how it would not be show quality.

When I call on wednesday 4pm-ish, she said they had "missed some spots" around the perimeter of the hood and they were doing some more body work.... It will be ready on thursday. Ok no problem.
When I called thursday 330 pm-ish, she said they finished the body work and were about to start paint and it would be ready for friday. Ok no problem.
Just now 11 am on friday, I walked in and asked if the jeep was finished or painted. She said that "they missed some spots" on the hood perimeter that needed some more body work and it will be ready monday. I asked what about the tailgate and she said they are working on it.

1. very frustrated that she cant call me to tell me this and waits till I contact her.
2. missing snow wheeling but that is no one's fault...
3. If the estimate is just that, and using her words, "they missed some spots" am I going to have to pay for all this extra time? This is double what they thought it would take.

This company usually deals with just insurance claims and wrecks... aka people who aren't paying for their stuff out of pocket. Cant wait to see the bill at this point. Rant off.

They can't increase the estimate without contacting you to let you know so you can authorize more work than what's on the estimate. It's not your fault they "missed some spots".

I can't even do anything for FREE thats not on the estimate, unless I contact the customer.

What he said. It's the law! Fiberglass can be tricky to paint sometimes, especially since the hood has already seen some stress.

Cool. That is good to know. They can take all the time they need then. It's not like the hood was in great shape.
