I am a little pissed off a Q-tec today. I called them and explained what happen with the shaft replacement over the weekend and how the new shaft was much larger diameter than the old and how it would not fit. I had to end up using the stock long shaft and the superior stub shaft. Anyways, they said I could not send back the piece I did not use and that they would not refund anything... Which I would be fine with except they told me it would fit, which is why I ordered it in the first place.

I guess I have another classified to post.

I am surprised that they wouldnt take the return , or at least offer another shaft .

Yeah I'm pretty unhappy with the situation too. But the jeeps is up and running so I cannot complain. Hopefully I can find someone who is looking for that size shaft...

Not too often you hear a man complaining that his shaft is too big...

Actually, well, um.... Not complaining...... No Comment on this.

I started the thread below a few days ago fully thinking that I would start the project on the up coming three day weekend, but it actually switched my decision to another way of thinking.

Q-tech is just the retailer and if they sell the shaft kit as a unit (shaft, stub shaft and u-joint) they can't just take back one part.

This is an issue I would address with the company of manufacture, the retailer just stocks and sells the item. Splitting up the axle shaft was not the correct thing to do, you really should have waited to hear back from Q-tech/Manufacturer but I understand some times you need to get up and running. However, you would also expect a "replacement" to fit...I've dealt with the same problem countless times so I'm not condemning what you did.

I have not. I am deciding which one I do not want to run. But I am going to decide when I have to. Just placed a Gen Rite order that will be here next friday for an install next weekend, hopefully.

I totally understand what they said and what I did (spitting the parts). Frustrating but life goes on.
