The illusion of progress part 2 (02 WJ)

A few years ago I had a 92 YJ that I was wheeling then decided to put 60s under it. After starting the project life changed and I ended up parting the rig out and selling everything. As seen here http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f22/i...92-yj-1255612/

As is true with the Jeep addiction you can't stay away for long before you relapse. In December I picked up a 2002 2WD WJ for a daily driver.

Sadly it had high mileage and with a bad cold snap the motor decided it had enough and broke the #2 piston.

After a few other life events I finally have found a new motor for it and will be picking it up tomorrow and swapping it in.

Welcome to the Illusion of Progress part 2.
Plans:
Motor swap and get it running and driving again.
Replace the worn out front shocks
freshen up the plastic with a new coat of paint
CB radio install with 4 ft whip antenna
Replace the front seats
Audio upgrade
Front recovery points
2in BB

Picked up a new to me motor Saturday from a wrecked 2003 WJ.

Got the front end stripped down and the old motor pulled. I will say that doing a motor swap on a drit/sand driveway sucks.

next step is to get the new motor into place and get it all hooked up.

After a few weekends I finally have the Jeep back up and running again. Its a great feeling pulling out of your driveway after doing a motor swap. Photo soon.

The replacement motor installed

At work ended up putting about 30 or so miles on it and so far it seems to be running well. I need to get the rest of the plastic painted and start working on some more fun stuff now that its running again.

What did you use to paint the plastic? I want to paint mine too but not sure what will work the best.

I'm trying the every popular plastidip and seeing how well it works. so far so good. I need to finish the rest of it so it looks finished.

Right now I have been driving it to work and loading it up with tools so far so good.

Just replaced the overhead lights with LEDs. Now I can actually see inside at night.
